Cam/RGIII

desperation = priceless

This describes why the Redskins did this!! you must remember that the QBs for them were GROSSman and Beck (the worst qbing to watch in my book), Shanahan was on the hot seat and if he went in with his QB as Grossman, Beck, Vince Young, Kyle Orton or Peyton Manning, then he would be on the hot seat still, but now with this move, the seat is colder due to RG3 being a rookie (if the Colts dont surprise me).

I would rather endure another season of Pickles than another season of Delhomme...

I sure as hell wouldn't.

Delhomme didn't play much last season, but in the one game he did play, he was 18/28 for 211 yards, 1 TD (in crunch time) and 0 INTs for a 99.0 passer rating.

Delhomme's run here didn't end well, but I'd take him throwing left handed over Jimmy Clausen.

If RG3 is a franchise QB, 3 first-rounders is a steal. This is a quarterback league, period. You don't have one, it doesn't matter what assemblage of talent you put together, you simply don't win.

That's why, rather than some of us poo-pooing the deal because it seems RG3 is valued more than Cam, we should be eternally grateful we have our franchise QB that is so highly thought of teams would trade the farm for someone sorta-kinda-like him.

Except a lot of people agree RG3 is nothing like Cam

Every time I've heard RGIII speak in his interviews and to the press, I find him to be

impressive.

He seems older than his years emotionally, very mature, physically very gifted, can throw a rope.

It will be interesting to see as they years play forward who the better QB will be.

As much as I like Cam Newton, he scares me a bit.

feel like he needs to grow up quickly between last year to this one. He seems to deflate when things get tough to me. If things go well and stay well, he's on fire, if things don't go his way, well, different story.

Again, not trying to pee on anyone's corn flakes. There is no dobut that he is a tremendous athlete and can do things many athletes will never do, but, it takes more than that.

And 90% of people think RG3 is "Cam-lite."

And yet: Compare Newton to Griffin as QB prospects, as fans and some people in my business have in recent months, and seasoned NFL talent evaluators and coaches practically do a spit-take (think milkshake: since it’s Indy, and it’s the combine, I’m assuming everyone I know will end up at Steak N’ Shake before dawn arrives).

“They’re totally different animals,” another general manager says.
