New Orleans - The Saints and guard Jahri Evans have agreed to restructure his seven year, $56 million deal to save the team some money.

Evans isn't taking a pay cut, but he is converting some of his base salary into a signing bonus which will give the Saints another sorely needed $2 million.

This move puts the Saints about $9 million under the $120 million salary cap.

Of course if Brees get his 23 million and only 20 goes to the cap this year that just took away 5 of that 9 which still puts them right at the limit. I assume his franchise tag of 15 is already figured in.

It's not because he hasn't signed it yet. I hate the Saints as much as anyone, but they will get a deal done for Brees. Now keeping both Nicks and Colston, that's a different story.
