I've been to Sanitary in Morehead City once...it wasn't bad. Clawson's right down the road in Beaufort is pretty good. I love their shrimp n grits. There's a few others over there too in Beaufort, but we end up always going to Clawson's. Good spots in Swansboro too, but if you like oysters and calabash style...T&W Oyster bar off Hwy 58 in Swansboro is your barebones, local, kickbutt spot to go to.

Good spot to hit with fishing buddies to throw back some oysters and drink.

You can walk to T&W from my MiL's house... been there many times. It's changed ownership now, so idk how good it is anymore... pretty hard to screw up decent oysters though.

Never ate one of the really hot oysters...but we do add tobasco to our old bay when we steam shrimp now because of T&W.

Here in Charlotte, my favorite is Lavecchias or Upstream.

Blue isn't bad either. Also, what was the name of that place off Tryon (kind of secluded)...I think it was the address of the restaurant.

Ivar's in Seattle is amazing as is Anchor and Hope in San Fran.

Eating seafood at Hyman's in Charleston is like eating a steak at Longhorn in Texas.

So true.

My wife likes it, though, so it's pretty much a prerequisite every time we visit Charleston. I like fried fish occasionally, but really it all tastes the same. The underlying fish flavor is destroyed by batter and grease.
