D. Rose

I am not a fan of the dude, but at this point I have to give him props... If I had to start a team with a PG it would be him. That step back shot last night was clutch... They've had a gew tight games lately and I have watched the end of them on NBA leaguepass, dude is clutch.

I hope he does not get that last piece that he needs because it could be trouble for the heats in the future.

Because that's all that matter when comparing players...

Not at all. Just cp3 is living off taking NO to the 2nd round 4 years ago, while D Rose has been killing it every year since. Did you see what happened when they went head to head earlier this year? Rose dragged him.

If I were starting a team from scratch and had my pick of the two I'd probably take Rose. Paul would be a sentimental favorite because I grew up watching him play, but Rose is just lethal. Interesting this morning that Skip Bayless said he'd take Kyrie Irving over Rose right now. But, you know, it's Skip so whatever.

I see you are from Chicago/midwest so you have to be a bit biased but you can't truly believe Rose is a more complete PG than Paul.

Paul is a better shooter, distributor, and plays better defense. Rose is electric and finisher around the rim. He is a great penetrator as well. But there is nothing wrong with saying CP3 is a more complete PG.

To be honest, I didn't see the game.

But I have seen enough of either of them to know that CP3 is more well rounded. That doesn't take anything away from Rose.

He's a fantastic player. Chris Paul is clearly a more complete point guard, rose a better scorer. Chris should have won the MVP a few years back when Kobe did.

Yeah he just happened to have his best year during Kobe's peak years.

After a game winning shot last night, Rose is the opposite of clutch tonight. He couldn't buy a basket down the stretch during this close game. Believe he didn't score a point in the 4th from the field and missed a FT late to cut it to 3. Had a bad shooting night as well but never considered him a good shooter.

    • With all the money invested in the offensive line, we really need to hit on some Round 1-3 picks.  We could really use a star receiver or pass rusher on a rookie contract for a few years.
    • I understand everyone being happy but let's try not to turn it into another schoolgirl crush festival. No offense. It isn't slower WRs that cause wild overthrows. They have all kinds of practice. It is his mechanics keeping things under control that allows a more efficient conversion of energy, let's call it, into the throw, that we are seeing.  He was doing it with horrible mechanics and needing to put 100% effort to get the ball that far. That totally fugs your accuracy. There is video of Mahomes and Carr on this site that I have linked with them throwing under control vs all out trying to get the most velocity on a radar gun. It shows exactly what I am saying. I didn't make it up. I have been telling y'all for a year at least. It really is all about the margins with Young and he has to be very attentive to his technique to get the most from what he has. He is doing that now and this is the new 'what he can do'. And this is it, there ain't no more. You decide if that's enough for you I guess. But you are noticing better ball flight and zip I am pretty sure, it comes from there. Again go look at the Buffalo drive in preseason and you will see that same thing you see lately. To do that stuff you have to be willing to stand tall come what may, sometimes. Hopefully you have protection to step up safely but the difference making happens when you stand in there and finish just ahead of a hit.  ..... And btw, the straw that broke the camel's back when Tepper fired Reich, was because he couldn't fix it in a week. One of the last issues that I remember was about Young's footwork. You know, I guess it is normal that 10 weeks into the season someone just realized, or finally accepted, that Young had major fundamentals issues. It took them a lot longer to realize it isn't an overnight fix. And my issues with Young were specifically over this stuff. Major rehab job, you don't pay what we paid for that. Hopefully he is 'fixed' and it 'took' and he doesn't go back into his little safe space of the old mechanics like he did week 1. If he hangs with the new, this is what you are working wth now. We just saw his ceiling.
    • i'm not nearly 100%, but i'm trending that way. He's definitely got me around 75%.
