jordan senn to be released

Recommended Posts

You can find solid special teams players anywhere. There was very little reason for us to bring him back. So, like I said, I don't really think we're missing anything. It's not like our ST was particularly good with him anyway and I can't imagine a scenario where it'll actually manage to get any worse.

Where have they been hiding from us then because our special teams has sucked for what seems like forever. Lol.

Truth is that I told you that there were players who were starting due to number of guys who were on IR who wouldn't be on an NFL roster otherwise. Frankly Senn is one of those guys. He was not solid at all especially in zone coverage. He took poor angles, struggled to bring bigger guys down, and was only good for depth. He may have been a fan favorite but I wasn't a fan at all. If we keep him at any price it will be paying him too much.

At this point letting guys pursue free agency just tells them that we are not going to tender them and potentially overpay when we think we have other guys just as good who are under contract or can find someone else for cheaper elsewhere.

Senn wasn't good enough to tender plain and simple. There are others who were on 1 year contracts who we won't resign as well. We have lots of fat to cut if we plan on picking up any free agents at all. There will be potentiially 100s of free agents available this year and a great opportunity to upgrade for relatively cheaply.

Anyone think Philly might pick him up??
