He hasn't attempted a field goal in the NFL since 2007, I'm sure he's gotten better since then. Plus he had a good career in the CFL.

there is reason you don't see many K/P guys rolled up in one....mastering both simply isn't easy. Baker isn't bad...so much of how good or bad a punter is ties directly into his coverage team.

The 3 years is purely a cap move, to have as little impact this year as possible. They take what he's being paid and spread it out over 3 years with no bonus so his cap hit this year is low and they can cut him without owing him a thing.

I doubt he'll be in camp to push/compete with Baker, but it's nice that he has that skill (sort of). I cannot stand Olindo Mare, so anything to get him off the team I'm ok with.
