Who here canceled or still uses Netflix?

For people who don't bittorrent, cough*pirate*cough, what alternative is better? I dropped cable years ago and don't miss it.

With Netflix I can try lots of movies I would never rent on a disk and give it a shot.

I can catch up on TV series I never saw during their broadcasts. (or hell re-watch series, Xfiles, cheers, etc....)

I play back on my 55" LED (thru HTPC) and a 42" Plasma (xbox) and the quality is pretty good.

$8/month and people b*tch. I just don't get it.

Now I do use Hulu (not Hulu Plus, since I won't pay to watch ads) to supplement other shows that are currently broadcasting or were webcasts. (Hulu has a program called hulu beta that runs in windows and has a better interface than using the web)

my only complaint with netflix is that i signed up because i like movies... they're now moving over to a business plan that is almost exclusively tv. it's still a good deal, but if i wanted to watch tv i'd have cable.

People are bitching about the crappy movie selection. Not the tv shows.

i don't even mind the selection so much... they just aren't really adding to it very well. they've completely abandoned licensing from larger studios. they're phasing movies out and it sucks.

The fallout with STARZ only made this worse. You can find a few diamonds in the rough with the current movie selection, but for the most part it's sub-par. The $8/month is worth it, though, for me, because I stream a lot of TV shows.

I canceled nf when they upped their prices- I started getting blockbuster dvds in the mail. I just yesterday canceled blockbuster because they suck even worse than netflix - long time to get dvd's, poor availability of recently released dvds, crap selection of dvds. I went back to netflix - no streaming though as their streaming is a bunch of crap- just 2 at a time dvd s unlimited- when Im desperate and nothing is on tv ( I use a tv antenna) I go to hulu or one of the other free sites.

Cancelled it several months ago and haven't missed it whatsoever despite Zod's multiple threads of this or that foreign film with subtitles that was oh so awesome. :D

Love Netflix streaming on my PS3. Would like to see more documentariesm biographies, and music concerts though.

But it looks as if progress has been made on one of those fronts. The Starz loss will hurt, but hopefully they find way to ease the pain.

...beats the dog crap out of Hulu though. I loved paying for online streaming yet continue to have advertisements. :)
