Head Coach for 2013???

Considering Higgins and Cho keep talking about rebuilding using the OKC model, promoting from their own seems likely (that's what OKC did during Durant's 2nd season). So Stephen Silas is the candidate right now.

rumors around that Nate Mcmillan will be getting fired after the season is over, with his connection in portland with richard cho there is reported interest on both parties.... i would actually be very for signing him, the work he has done in portland with all the injuries to his best players has impressed me.

i like lil silas but with the troubles this franchise has had, i would go safe route and take a proven coach that has been through the seasons as a coach and could bring experience to a young roster

very little of our personnel will be on the team next year

Ya I see us trading DJ and maggete for a draft pick. I would say Boris but I think he is going to be let go. A coach will have the opurtunity to build a team with managment how he see's fit. Also he is a NC State Alum which is great with me:p

Our key players that will be staying like Kemba, Biyombo, Reggie Williams, and Henderson to a degree and Tryus to a degree, all thrive in fast paced offenses. I am not saying totally discount him for his style, it's just something to think about. Haven't heard this rumor, but if it's true, he'd have to be top of the list of potential head coaches.

The thing is Paul Silas is not a bad coach. He has just been put in a tough situation. But sometimes, especially when you rebuild, you need a fresh face.

i would be PISSSSSSED if its stephen silas.

this is why we will suck again next year and year after next and next and next!!!!!!

bobcats are so cheap and lazy and just plug coaches in after coaches.

get a real damn coach. ....... bring in a college coach like Callipari Kentucky (not like hell like to come here, but atleast try so we as fan can see that they're trying) or some fugggin other coach who knows the damn game.

Calipari has got it good in Kentucky, he is fit for college.

Do agree that we need to look a little deeper than just Stephen Silas.

yah i know. but could atleast tried than just pluggin in people out from no where you know. thats why we end up drafting in the lottery draft year after year

    • With all the money invested in the offensive line, we really need to hit on some Round 1-3 picks.  We could really use a star receiver or pass rusher on a rookie contract for a few years.
    • I understand everyone being happy but let's try not to turn it into another schoolgirl crush festival. No offense. It isn't slower WRs that cause wild overthrows. They have all kinds of practice. It is his mechanics keeping things under control that allows a more efficient conversion of energy, let's call it, into the throw, that we are seeing.  He was doing it with horrible mechanics and needing to put 100% effort to get the ball that far. That totally fugs your accuracy. There is video of Mahomes and Carr on this site that I have linked with them throwing under control vs all out trying to get the most velocity on a radar gun. It shows exactly what I am saying. I didn't make it up. I have been telling y'all for a year at least. It really is all about the margins with Young and he has to be very attentive to his technique to get the most from what he has. He is doing that now and this is the new 'what he can do'. And this is it, there ain't no more. You decide if that's enough for you I guess. But you are noticing better ball flight and zip I am pretty sure, it comes from there. Again go look at the Buffalo drive in preseason and you will see that same thing you see lately. To do that stuff you have to be willing to stand tall come what may, sometimes. Hopefully you have protection to step up safely but the difference making happens when you stand in there and finish just ahead of a hit.  ..... And btw, the straw that broke the camel's back when Tepper fired Reich, was because he couldn't fix it in a week. One of the last issues that I remember was about Young's footwork. You know, I guess it is normal that 10 weeks into the season someone just realized, or finally accepted, that Young had major fundamentals issues. It took them a lot longer to realize it isn't an overnight fix. And my issues with Young were specifically over this stuff. Major rehab job, you don't pay what we paid for that. Hopefully he is 'fixed' and it 'took' and he doesn't go back into his little safe space of the old mechanics like he did week 1. If he hangs with the new, this is what you are working wth now. We just saw his ceiling.
    • i'm not nearly 100%, but i'm trending that way. He's definitely got me around 75%.
