Another D@mn Jake thread...Jeez

Ok, ok...I'm tired too of all the mud flying around. To Jake or not to Jake...

I lean toward the latter and I want you to think about a "dumb" reason as to why. Panthers.com. Poll: What is the Panthers Biggest Need in the NFL Draft? Survey Says! OB!

So what? Who cares? A true fan knows that's sophomoric at best...

Not really. The majority of fans are the ones spending the majority of the money. Tickets, 8 dollar beers, jerseys, rolaids, the list goes on and on.

A team's anchor is it's QB, so why settle for mediocrity simply as a matter of circumstance? I've read some well thought out arguments as to why we keep Col. Chicken, but I just can't get onboard. The damage is done.

Would you rather see our team roll the dice and lose?

*or*

Would you rather see another lackluster performance from our very own #17?

I would roll the dice, but what do I know...

Pretty much forced to stick with the overpaid 34 year old QB with a lack of touch on his arm. He's costing too much against the cap to not allow him to start. Might be better options even in the draft... but he's tied to Carolina's leg for yet another year. I like Jake though, least if he's in as QB.. I can write the Panthers off the list of Super Bowl contenders...

Who are we going to get to replace him???

Pat white???

Jake is not the worst Qb in the league, he is not the best, but a lot of teams would like to have that stability at their QB position.

So just get ready to enjoy another seaon of No.17 running the show. Handing off to 34 and 28 and passing to 89,87 and 80

What the hell is this "roll the dice" garbage? Football isn't a game of craps. You're not going to "hit it big" and have some scrub QB turn into Peyton Manning overnight.

And the anchor of our offense isn't the QB. It's the OLine. Win the game in the trenches.

tOm BRaDy WAs a 6tH RoUNdER!!1!!

I knew someone was going to bring that up. Brady wasn't an MVP QB, he was developed into one under a system and organization that does it better than anyone. NE didn't "roll the dice" and "hit it big". It was not luck. Notice what they did with Cassel as well.

    • I don't agree with this, he looks jacked to me.  His frame won't allow him to ever be as big as XL, and that's fine.  He will just have a hard time with press, there are ways to deal with that.
    • that type of QB, especially paired with a weaker NFL arm.....excel with quick game weapons though.   it sounds like you are a big Tmac homer.  I mean, if you are watching every snap he played in college.   So, it's safe to say we likely won't see eye to eye on expectations for year 1.   And my expectations on Tmac aren't all in his control.  As I have also said, elsewhere, this is really year 2 for Bryce.  So I expect the first half of the season to carry healthy odds of a year 2 regression (specifically the first half).  Film, tendencies, and weaknesses in Dave's offense are going to be prepared for.    out of curiosity, what cons to Tmac's game where in the scouting stuff you saw?
    • Maybe a weeeee bit exaggerating. I think he will be a great player. But that doesn’t look like someone that was super committed in the weight room during college which is just a little confusing. Maybe he cut some weight to try and run a better 40. We saw Julio come into the league a little skinnier, get bigger/stronger and really start dominating. Strength and size is important as a big physical x receiver. It’s not so important for the Devonta Smith role
