Peyton Done in Indy

Recommended Posts

yea but panther fans in general are terrified of the possibility of failure so good luck getting that point across here because I've tried to and they still don't get it lol

The Panthers as an organization have taken a lot of risk. And the list of risk that have failed is very long, which is why we have had three straight losing seasons. Taking Cam was a risk, (but less of a risk than many others we have taken), and fortunately it was one that paid off.

Getting rid of one of the greatest of all time for an unproven rookie is a far greater risk then taking Cam was. Unless of course, they are certain that PM can't play, in which case its not much of a risk at all. But if he comes out and plays well next year, and Luck does not, heads will roll in Indy.

that's the point. Putting our chips on Cam paid off because at the heart of the matter, we made an informed selection with a plan to bring him along. In contrast, the Delhomme extension was a ridiculous risk rooted in a leap of faith and trying to rally around him after his faltering in the playoffs with the added benefit of 2 mil in cap savings for 2009. On the surface though the risk of drafting Cam would be bigger, which is all panther fans cared to check last year while they were clamoring for us to trade down to 4 and somehow acquire Carson Palmer from the Bengals lol

Bringing in Manning is not a big risk for any team. After all he has to pass a physical or any deal they make is conditional on passing. As for is it a big risk to bring in Luck? Not at this point. If Peyton would have played well last year then obviously dumping him would have created a huge stir. On the other hand if had played even average, they wouldn't have won the rights to Luck in the first place. They have to be counting their lucky stars. They get Peyton for a decade and only have one bad season and have the chance to pick up a guy who is widely touted as the next Peyton Manning. They had no choice but to pick up Luck. I wonder how much the parting of the ways might be instigated by Manning himself. After all I doubt he wanted Luck as their pick and when he knew it was going to happen decided he wanted out as well. You know how there is the story they tell us and then the real story which comes out years later.

Peyton will go to the Skins... and it will end badly.

Schefter actually made a good point on that front.

At his age, and with his history of playing in a dome, there's good reason to believe Manning may prefer a warm weather team.

That, plus he has an offseason residence in Miami.

Something that no on here has thought about. Well Except me!

IF Peyton fails a physical with another team, there a real BIG chance that the Colts will bring him back as the QB coach!

The Colts let their QB coach go, and as far as I know, they have yet to name anyone. Peyton may get his chance to work with Luck!
