Could you KILL someone?

When I entered Saudi Arabia as a civilian contractor, I made friends with a bunch of Special Ops guys. (They liked hanging with me. They said, I made them laugh.)

They told me the secret to surviving in war was to tell yourself you are already dead. Once you realize that, the fear goes away.

They taught me a 100 ways to kill a person. (You'd be surprised what you can do with a ball point pen!)

You have to realize, that if it comes to that point. It's either kill or be killed.

Yes, when confronted with the right situation, I can pull the trigger.

I was asked if I wanted to take a jaunt "up north" and see my boxes I helped design, thrown out the back of a C-130. I jumped at the opportunity. It wasn't until I got back that the Special Op's Commander asked me if I had fun. I was kind of in shock that he knew about it. Then he told me that we flew right through the middle of Iraqi owned territory. (I never even thought of that!) Hussein could have sent up some MIGs to meet the C-130!

He told me to relax. There was a member on board who's responsibility was to make sure if anything happened, I got out of country OK. Then the C-130 was dogged by 2 F-15 Strike Eagles the entire way!

It's good to have friends.

Hypothetically, could you actually pull the trigger?

What if your life depended on it? Him or me?

What if your spouses life depended on it? Someone was threatening the life of your spouse?

Your kid?

You dog/cat?

If someone was going to burn down your house?

Where do you draw the line? At what point would you kill someone?

Also, is there a particular way you would not want to take somebody out? (i.e. choking someone to death, or stabbing, or shooting someone?)

p.s. I am just asking a hypothetical question, and it has nothing to do with me. I was thinking about this after watching the ending to Walking Dead last night...

To protect my family, I absolutely can pull the trigger or whatever it takes. I'd fug someone up over my pets, but not kill. The house can be replaced.
