Almost 1 in 10 people think every team has bounties or should if they dont?

I think many teams have some sort of "pay-for-performance" pool that is funded BY THE PLAYERS and rewards guys for interceptions, sacks, fumble recovery, etc... the MAJOR difference with the Saints, is that it does not pay out for "cart offs" and "knockouts" and is not administered, supported or funded by the coaches, GM'S and other high ranking officials in the franchise.

The minute a coach or team exec hears that the pool involves rewards for hurting someone to the point that they are knocked out of the game and/or need to be carted off the field, they should put a stop to it. That didn't happen with the Saints, and that's why they are in hot water.

Sure, Im not saying the Saints are the only ones, but this is NOT common and it certainly is very rare for a coach to sponsor it and drive it.

I think it's very common and I'd be surprised if every team in the NFL didn't have player pool bounty's by the way the players are talking about it. Doesn't mean I agree with it, but I still think it's that common. I do agree about the coach part with sponsoring the bounty, but I think they know when their players have one though.

Not saying the intent is to hurt a player, but definitely knock them out of the game for a period of time for sure. .

Edit: The reason I believe that it's more common then the NFL wants to admit is because players have already admitted the following teams have ran bounty programs

Saints

Titans

Ravens

Redskins

Bills

With former and current players coming out and supporting the bounty programs. Former Coaches admitting they knew about player ran bounties and that the only mistake made here was the NFL making this information public.

Yes, they do. Most players I'd say got a warning from their coaches and the NFLPA about speaking out and admitting anything after the Raven's incident, but you can tell by how the players are commenting about it on Twitter and a few college prospects coming out and supporting it.

It def happens with other teams among the players.

What makes this situation so sketchy is the fact a coach, the defensive coordinator was the guy in charge.. The head coach AND GM were both aware of the situation and did nothing to stop it.

You have to be pretty low to try to injure another athlete. You have to be even lower to accept money for it. You have to be really low to pay other athletes to do it. In professional sports, I think that is the most underhanded thing you can do to your counterparts.

We know for a fact that some organizations show interest in bringing only good-character players into their organization (by owners' preference, by past mistakes or both). On the other hand, there are organizations who will bring in anyone who will help them win. So, some organizations are really likely to have had this happen behind closed doors and some have little to no chance of such a disgusting program, period.

I'm glad that I am a fan of one that has little-to-no chance of a bounty program.
