Voice over IP or Traditional Land Line, and why?

I've always thought the mobile was enough, but little reasons such as reception inconsistency and touch screens that don't always work perfectly have me considering an actual home phone.

I haven't had a home phone in years but if I was going back to that tech it would be VOIP.

We used to travel with our Vonage device so that unless we were in transit we could get and make calls from our "home" number. Except for the fact that they tried to weasel an extra month of service fees out of me when I canceled I cant say enough good about them.

So there were never any problems with the technology? Not even based off of networks or devices it was dependent on? I don't know anything about how it works if you can't tell.

from Bell South? Also who's your internet with? All that's listed on a pdf I got last week is TWC.

i'd do a landline simply because it'll work if the power is out.

Having a land line is good if the power ever goes out, Id probably just have local w/ no extra stuff and primarily use my cell phone.

yeah AT&T for internet too. and I still get all my calls without my phone always being by my side.

i'd do a landline simply because it'll work if the power is out.

I have a landline (AT&T) and keep an old corded phone in the closet for this reason (cordless won't work without power)

Yep...how you going to call the power company to tell them your power is out if your router is down or cordless not powered.

911 is the bigger concern. Hopefully it is never needed.

you can always do what my neighbors used to do... just wait for someone else to call. lol.
