Beason is our MLB. Nobody we draft or pick up in FA will ever take his spot. He's there until he is no longer a Panther or retires.

Luke is an ideal Rivera guy. Lunchbox carrying student of the game. He epitomizes the type of defense Rivera speaks of.......versatile team player! Those that don't think Luke could be selected at no.9 are not paying attention to Ron. Linebacker is our biggest need in terms of holes, depth, and uncertainty of our projected starters.

Now its just a matter of Ron being able to fit Luke into the lineup with Beason in the middle.

No one knows how he will respond after that injury. If he is healthy and comes back strong Luke can play another spot. Luke did at BC, played multiple spots and both at a high level.

If Beason doesn't miss a beat that still doesn't change the fact Davis is likely done, Connor wants out....and unlike last year this scheme will be LB driven.

So if Hurney goes BPA you will quit supporting the team? If he reaches on a raw DT who didn't produce at a high level in college and a best case scenario would take a couple years before he is ready to see the field....you endorse Hurney as making a

Why is this an outragious pick? To me is is the best player availible if he is there at 9.He can make an imediate impact and fill an imediate need.I dont see a defensive player except Claborne that is a better pick

That could be said about every position.coverage LB do not go in the top 10 and no scheme places LB play over DL play.does not matter how athletic or how good your instincts may be if OL can get up to the next level and get their hands on you.

Because of three things:

#1. We have one of the Top 5 linebackers in football. Sure he was injured, but lets see how he does post-injury before we go for linebacker in the first round.

#2. Linebacker isn't our greatest area of need compared to DT, CB or even Safety. Linebacker is actually the least needed position on defense.

#3. 100% sure he wont end up being the best player available at 9. This is all wishful thinking.
