If we take Luke Kuechly who plays MLB?

Kuechly had 7 interceptions- 2 for pick sixes, and 17 pass breakups in 3 years. People keep forgetting he lead the country in tackles at a sophomore and junior in college. If he had played his senior year he would have broken all the college records for linebackers other than sacks. He is quicker than Beason and has better measurables than Davis so why couldn't he play any position we ask him to play. Honestly I would play Beason in the middle and put Kuechly outside at either Will or Sam based on what the other guys could do best. He can play anywhere and would be the most athletic guy on our linebacking squad. All this on a squad where he was the only talent and teams gameplanned to run and throw away from him and they made sure they knew where he was on every play. He played Will his freshmen year and only was second in the counry in tackles befoore moving inside his sophomore season.

I really think if he is durable and there is no reason to assume he won't be, he will better than Dan Morgan. His college production was certainly much better. He is a can't miss prospect and won't be available past 11 or at the lowest 15. So trading down would be stupid if you really wanted him. With all that said, I fear we won't be smart enough to pick him instead of picking a DE/DT or corner. If Davis or Beason struggle we will surely regret it. I only hope McDermott is lobbying for this kid every day. He would help our defense moe than any other player we could get and there is no one like him in the draft. Guys like Brown don't even come close.

poo will literally hit the fan if we draft this guy, tired of abandoning the d-line and the secondary. fug that poo.

Right and wrong ways to address needs. Silly to think that if they don't use the #9 pick on a DT they are ignoring the position. It is just silly to pass on better players who ALSO fits needs.
