If we take Luke Kuechly who plays MLB?

How do they compare?? Combine times, college production, Etc. Anyone can pull a name out of a hat.

Forgot were I seen it,being that I have looked at so much predraft sites and writings.but 4.4 forty, 39 inch vertical 5`11 239 frame so I think it was more so because of his size. But he is the Pac-12 defensive player of the year and has played OLB and ILB in a 3-4.so like I said he fits the scheme more since he has proved he can get after the QB.

I guess with all the blitzing we will be doing in our jimmy john Defense that blitzing is his forte...he must have some great stats besides tackles. Like sacks, forced fumbles and tfl, right

Ooooph

0 sacks

0 forced fumbles

Not in the top 50 in tackles for loss

Well, I guess we shouldn't draft Luke and part ways with all our LBs. Beason can't rush the passer if asked in a scheme that puts that role on him. Andersonis weak too....Davis is done. I mean, none of them have the stats to show they can rush the passer. I guess since Luke scheme didn't ask him to do it he can't....and since Foxs scheme didnt ask Beason to do it then he can't either

Beason said on the Wfnz 610 in charlotte himself that if he had to play in the superbowl he could.

So my source is the horse himself.

I also love how Ron Edwards has not played a down for us is already getting a statue built outside the stadium.

Yet, that same horse contradicted that statement by saying that he hasn't even put on cleats or pushed himself at full speed...and this was AFTER the SB.

As for Edwards, hyperbole much? Nobody said anything about his play, just proved that your assertation that his health situation is no different than Beason's was wrong.

Ok 55 what has Ron edwards done in his career that has you convinced that he and the rookies are all we need at DT.

What we lacked last year at the DT spot was someone who can hold the middle and a 3 technique who can rush the passer and penetrate the gap. I am pretty confident that Edwards can shore up the middle. If he can just stand there and not get blown off the line he will be a huge upgrade over last year. As for a 3 technique I am less confident. I did like Keiser and thought ourplay in the last 5 or 6 games was better. But I was on the DT bandwagon earlier and could see us taking a guy like Poe or Brockers for down the road. Other than those 2, the rest are not athletic enough to separate themselves from guys we could get in lower rounds. And I worry about Poe and Brockers from a production point of view. Frankly I think we are likely to go Coples in the draft, I can see why if the really think he can be the next Julius Peppers. I just am not sold on him though. And unfortunately we only get 1 first rounder.

1.That what he said and I'm prone to trust him and beleive that he will be ready when the season starts.

2. It is no different both are coming off season ending injuries. Both can get hurt again. If you feel like Ron is not ? coming back from injuries and Beason is that is just your opinion. I choose to feel like both can either be ? or safe picks to be healthy.

I want to see Ron do it 1st before I'm so sure about that.

Again it shows how litle you know about him. He was in coverage on passing plays not blitzing. When he is the best player on the team and great in coverage you don't wast him blitzing when that would be a poor use of his ability. You blitz the other guys not him.

Lets not include the 3 Ints for 76 yards including a 49 yard Td.. Lets forget the 12 tackles for a loss which you say wasn't in the top 50 all time, for all positions or for linebacker? Which one??

we don't really need another coverage linebacker though

if we improve the unit we need a pass-rusher or a thumper in the middle

I'll say it again. He is a good LB and a great tackler just not Top 10 worthy

And I'l say again you are way underselling him and taking the top 10 to an absurdity. He has already been linked with KC at 11 and Philly at 15. Yeah but that isn't top 10....... and we pick at 9............ so he would be a big reach....

Gimme a break.... If he is our next Dan Morgan than he is worth whereever we pick him.

You don't need Dan Morgan when you got Jon Beason.

People said we didn't need Jon Beason when we had Morgan. You can't go wrong with great talent...it always pays off.

Out LB corp is getting weaker. If Beason is less than 100% and we add no real talent.....that won't be good. Luke can do more than play MLB. He did in college when asked...is talented enough to be more and be a backup to Beason if needed.

wow, everyone spinning words in this thread... glad I didn't involve myself..

oh, and the Dan Morgan was just a comparison to talent, not position..

and if Davis can't play more than 75% of games, or as many people speculate: he'll be lucky to play 6.. we definitely need a coverage linebacker...
