lol, you really don't understand what people say to the public and what people actually want are very different things. I'm sure Nicks would be happy to be signed by the Saints, but only if he is the highest paid guard in the NFL. Because the Saints don't have that type of money, and Loomis, being the moron he is, has bigger issues to deal with, I wouldn't count on it.

BTW, just as a heads up, you earlier said that Brees hasn't said anything negative about his contract. Your wrong there too, since he has told the media how frustrated he is about not getting a deal. I wouldn't want my franchise QB to be upset about anything, but again Loomis messed up.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that Brees HAS to sign that franchise tender and play on that one-year contract.

brees has already stated he won't play under the franchise tag. he's looking for something around $23-24 mill per year for the first 3 years, which would eat up just about all of their cap space. it's expected that he'll hold out if the saints don't cave and give him what he wants.

and i know everyone brings up nicks and colston but the saints also have meachem and numerous defensive players as free agents. even if brees had taken a discount they were going to have problems resigning everyone.

and on top of that they already don't have a 1st, and with bountygate now they're sure to lose even more picks, face fines and a possible cap penalty as well. oh and several defensive players could be facing multiple game suspensions (to go along with the FAs they lose)

basically what i'm saying is the saints are completely f**ked.
