Carl Nicks said he "absolutely" would re-sign with the #Saints before FA opens, but he has to be the highest paid guard in the league.

You really are as stupid as we suspected now. This is hilarious.

Let me give you a little inside information: No player wants the Franchise tag. He's happy cause he thought he was getting it and now he can take the biggest offer.

If that was the plan, Brees would have been franchised along time ago and they would have been working on a contract for Nicks .

Just face it dude, Saints are gonna lose Nicks and Colston.

PS: Loomis will not be the GM for much longer. He will be the scapegoat for the bounties.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells Profootballtalk.com the league and NFLPA are "scrambling" to increase the 2012 salary cap.

Provisions in the new CBA have left teams with less cap space than they were anticipating, prompting the NFLPA to seek to "re-do the numbers." The league has apparently shown a "certain amount of willingness" to cooperate with the effort because it "doesn’t want the players to think they got a bad deal." A resolution is expected within the next 10 days. Mar 3 - 11:25 AM

Sorry to disappoint you, but the cap increase won't be significant enough to matter when your QB is never going to play at 16 million. He'll get his deal and it's going to hit the Saints for 21-23 million this season. Counting escalator clauses, that puts the the Saints about 8 million over the Cap. Even if the league pushes the cap up 5 million and the Saints restructure Smith, they are still up against the cap wall. Also if Nicks was important to the Saints and they thought they could afford his future 8-10 Million a season salary, they would've contacted him by now. It doesn't matter where he wants to be, because he wants to be the highest paid guard in the NFL and unless Bree's stupidly plays for 16 million, the Saints can't afford Nicks.

So yes, Nicks has already left the building.

I won't comment on the other part of your post because of how laughable it is.
