Thoughts on the Saints Situation

Well, one of the guys shooting his mouth off may have gotten his old team some unwanted attention.

Florio reports the league is likely to also investigate the Redskins, the team Matt Bowen used to play for (also with a Gregg Williams connection).

Nice job Matt

He's not the only one, according to the article they already have multiple player's on record saying that the Redskins ran a similar system with incentives for injuries.

As I said in the other thread, I bet the Titans are next. Which I think will end up with Jeff Fisher being in trouble, which will in turn hurt STL a whole lot.

I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg! My question is, If the league knew, and suspected that the Saints were doing it, why were the REF's not given he green light to flag the Saints for any penalties that seemed flagrant?

Also, when players were making public statements throughout the year how the Saints were playing dirty, how come massive fines were not handed out? Like that hit on Steve Smith, what a 15k fine I believe it was, that should have been at least a 1 game suspension. Suh got suspended for a flagrant attack, why not Harper? Or the hit on Earl Bennet? that didn't get a flag or a fine?

Then everyone was laughing at the Titians about the Whistle Gate and who the Saints were playing dirty, but looking back at what Damain Williams and Nate Washington said, Harper should have been fined way more than James Harrison!!!!!

Then we have Adrian Peterson, one of the most outstanding players in the league, a role model for all kids. Complaining about how dirty the Saints were playing, and nothing.

I want to see that crappy franchise banned from the NFL. FUG the Saints.

Also said elsewhere: Should Jeremy Shockey be re-signed for this coming season to play one more year alongside Steve Smith, given their respective recent comments and attitudes on the situation, I wonder how that first conversation goes.

I doubt steve smith really cares what shockey said

I think that such things go on a lot more than you would think. Just like the spy gate stuff. People will come out against it but I'm sur a lot of teams are quietly calling off similar programs.

We had like a award for the best hit a few years back and were told by the league to stop. Only difference is we actually stopped unlike NO. They just snubbed there noses and kept rolling.
