Saints in BIG trouble...

The most amazing thing? They were warned about this by the league prior to this season and yet kept it going. Total dumbassery (my new word, don't copy it).

Gregg Williams should get a lifetime ban, no questions asked.

The rest of the Saints management and coaches need to pay a high price, be it draft picks, fines, reduction of practices, whatever. It has to be enough that no team will ever consider doing it again.

I am so glad this has come to light and see it as a positive development for the league. There is no place for intentionally trying to hurt someone.

I didn't realize the organization (outside of Williams) was adding to the pot, that is really bad.

Payton knew

Williams added money to the pot and set it up. A player only bounty pool wouldn't be that big of a deal

Team paid out bonus money for injuries and INTs off the books per what King wrote...the INTs and clean play stuff also violates the salary cap

Roman Harper lying to the NFL.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82758fa5/article/exsaints-safety-sharper-calls-allegations-of-bounties-ridiculous

Sharper didn't deny that Williams was involved, saying players and the coaching staff were part of creating incentives for making big plays in games, because it contributes to winning.

But Sharper said the line was drawn at big plays, and said there was never pre-meditated intent to injure opposing players.

"No, positively no," he said. "With an exclamation point. It's about making big plays in games."

Payton's involvement:

The memo also said Mike Ornstein, a noted marketing agent who has close ties to Saints head coach Sean Payton and has worked with him on projects in the past, put up money as a bounty at least twice

apparently the bounty fund reached 50k one year.
