Is the bag on your head to hide the fact that your head is actually up your ass ?

you fvckin crack me up Kurb...dam yer hilarious. what are you..10?

you lost all cred with me when you attacked my status as a fan yesterday with that "unhealthy ........ they fail" bullshat.

...so first I'm a moron because I don't agree with the decision to tag and now since I, along with others, look to be right as the days roll along and the draft looms I'm just a bad fan.

If Peppers and Carey hadn't been dumbasses about their negotiations then Pep would be an even richer man right now (hard to believe) with a new deal. The fact that he demanded to play in a 3-4 when he is freakin 30 years old and has NEVER played linebacker in his career is absurd. Not to mention they gave one of the most hard-nosed GMs in the league an ultimatum...at which point, said GM laughed at them and responded "sit your ass down bitch, I'll do with you what I please..."

Bottom line is Carey is a moron, Pep is a moron, and we could be sitting pretty with a couple of really nice draft choices (with Pep getting his wish to play elsewhere) if Pep had just kept his mouth shut. Its funny because if he never backs off his wish of wanting to play in a 3-4 he will be a panther and if he announces that he wants to play DE he could go somewhere else...funny how that works.

you might be a moron for actually believing any o that...

pep is in the best position he could be in and we have had no clue about or needs, our bank, or where to focus wince the tag was placed.

you people crack me up. How fvckin blind are you?

Never attacked you as a fan, just questioned the way you go about it.

I am now deeply upset my cred has been diminished in your eyes.

Being wrong about tagging Julius doesn't make you a moron.

Once again I'll ask....does anybody know for certain, that 2010 is gonna be a guaranteed NO CAP year??

Is it written in stone 100%?

Is it to the point that nothing can be done about it?

Can the committee not meet between now and then, and all that change?

I would really like to know the answer, because a lot of teams are gambling on this if it is just pure speculation. Link, anything please.

Thanks.

Who has offered anything.

Just going about my usual routine of correcting you.

You believe the tag was the incorrect move.

Sadly I would offer the 32 teams in the NFL would disagree with you.

But keep spewing your high and mighty opinions and venom.

It has become amusing to me.

no...there is no guarantee of it being an uncapped year. they still have to visit the CBA and there is no guarantee that anything will pass quickly. i don't think the NFL or owners are wanting an uncapped year and if both sides play hardball there very well could be a lockout or a strike.

4 possibilities

1- new CBA comes about with cap

2- no cap for 2010 but it resumes in 2011 per the new CBA

3- owners cause a lockout delaying or eliminating the 2010 season

4- players strike delaying or eliminating the 2010 season

5- work stoppage after the uncapped year

part of the reason given for the panthers not wanting to have contracts past 2010 for QBs or coaches and some players is that they didn't want to have to pay people if there was a lockout and no football being played.

Thanks Rayzor. I guess everybody else was to busy arguing to see my request. :D

I appreciate it.

Ever once in a while someone creates an enlightening Pep thread that makes sense, and this is one of them.

I laugh at the thought that people thought we would just let Peppers go. In any business arena, much less the NFL, you just don't let one of your main guys walk, particularly when they are damn near impossible to replace. For someone to say different is pretty much irrational and belies people letting emotion get the better of them. Tagging Pep was our only smart option. Blame it on Pep if you want to, or fate---whatever you like---but, it is the FO's job not to land in such a position.

Now, it is what it is. Pep is staring the FO down, as is his right. He's basically overplayed his hand in this bad economic climate, and the FO is calling his bluff.

To me, it's all good, and it's all business. It's to be expected.

Unless the FO can do some magic, then Pep will be playing for us hard come August (unless he is stupid, which I don't believe he is). Pep won't get what he want, but he will be that much richer. The FO will get to keep Pep for at least another year, albeit at a higher price than they'd like, and the team will get the quality services of arguably the best DE in football. The only thing is that if the status quo remains we will have to repeat this lunacy, dance, and signifying after nest season, but at least we have hope that Meeks' style of coaching will make Pep a bigger beast than he was last year, and make him want to stay.

you can offer one team. you do not know about the other 31. stop lying to yourself in hopes of being able to correct me.

Is it written in stone, not that I know of. But I can't imagine that there is anyway that they could reach an agreement before March of 2010 which is what it would take to go in effect for the 2010 season. They haven't even begun negotiations which typically take months to complete. Unless the players are willing to accept deep cuts in what they are already getting, it won't get resolved soon at all.

It will be very hard to get things done at all let alone in a timely manner.

    • I've watched and listened to several evaluations from the good ole youtubers.  From what I was able to watch, the first few drives before I left to do a job to the end of the game were very different for Bryce.  So he had a "good" game.  Which is great.  I love a win, period.  His WRs had some drops, thing ripped away, etc.  Not great, but a W is a W, right? I think the Panthers have to start Bryce.  You have to see if he continues to build on the good plays and make fewer and fewer bad plays.  No QB is going to play a perfect game.  But we need to continue to see Bryce make plays.  Does he have the ability to will his team to victory?  I'm not sure. I'm still in the Bryce is a backup QB camp.  I'm glad he had a good game, I glad we won, but I need to see more before we make a decision to keep or trade him.  Playing Andy literally does NOTHING to help you for the future.  Andy may not even resign with the Panthers.  We could be out both starting QBs by the time FA/Draft season hits. Ultimately, this is a Dan Morgan and Dave Canales issue.  Can they get value out of Bryce to help them improve the total roster?  Is there a FA QB who would be an upgrade?  A surprise cut or post season trade?  Or is there a QB at the top of the draft who they think they can mold into a high level starting QB?  I don't know. I do know I want to see more of Bryce Young and more out of him on the field.  I want to see the fire, the competitor come out.  I want him getting pissed.  I want him to grab his beanbag and tell us all he's the f'ing dude.  I just don't think we'll see that out of Bryce.  If not the fire, then let me see the ice - let me see the rattle proof dude who kills with accuracy and playmaking no matter how hot and crazy it gets.
    • Ickey at LT and Brady as Center / Swing position player is more valuable to our team IMO
    • That's fair but signing a veteran like Justin Fields to a one year deal and drafting defense with our first is always an option two.  I personally don't think these QBs this year are top 10 worthy selections
