Janoris Jenkis IS a possiblity for us?

The Panthers are reportedly "intrigued" by the abilities of North Alabama CB Janoris Jenkins.

There have been signs out of Carolina that cornerback will be the top priority in the draft. A first-round talent with perhaps as many character red flags as any high-end prospect, Jenkins would be a better bet for the Panthers early in the second round.

I absolutely love Jenkins' ability. But damn he has a lot of baggage.

Kirkpatrick may have made a mistake. However, Jenkins has made mistake, after mistake, after mistake. He just does not show that he has learned from them. God he really reminds me of Pacman Jones.

nah...that would be cliff harris.

i hope that he falls.

1) it would lessen the risk and 2) that means we could have another high end player in the first round.

there was good bit of talk about him falling to the end of the first round prior to the combine, but it seems like there has been a lot more talk during.

of course...that could be smokescreens sent up from later first round teams that are really interested and know that if they tell one of those dumb draftnik journalists that jenkins is "undraftable" that they'll run with it and maybe it will allow him to fall to them.

at any rate, i wouldn't take jenks over claiborne (really is it that much harder to type than 'MoClay?' i mean there's not even an 'o' in his first name is there?) but i also wouldn't have an issue at all with jenks at #9 if he was picked and the panthers had done their due diligence in making sure he was beyond his past issues.

I believe if Rivera tells Jenkins the same thing he told Hogan then everything will be fine. There's only one way to do it, the panther way. Do it any other way and you're outta here.

the rookie salary cap takes away a lot of the risk.

i can't imagine his whole 5 year rookie contract being more than $18mil total. PP's rookie contract last year was $18.6mil last year and he was 5th pick overall.
