Potential Draft Day Trade?

so we trade down 13 spots, pick up alot more picks that we cant pay because we are only $2.8 million under the cap. gotcha.

Like Marty is sitting around thinking "hmm, maybe we should start thinking about how we are going to put a team on the field this year, you know, with that cap thing".

Stop worrying about the cap. There are several very smart people working in the front office that know what to do.

Every team finds the money it needs to get the players it wants. Short term, the cap is just something to work around. The cap is more problematic long-term if teams mis-handle it.

Edit: Kurb types faster.

I think this is going to be one of the crazier draft days. Obviously, its important to keep in mind there are two months until the draft and obviously a lot will change depending on free agency. Something tells me there are going to be a number of trades and I just hope Marty has us coming out on the good end of it for once.

Personal opinion for sure, but I would do my best to trade back (for the right price) unless Claiborne fell to us. Outside of him there are far too many opinions from scouts as to how the next 10-15 players shake out.

Meh, I've been toying with the idea of a scenario like last year with 4 Qb's taken in the top 12, I'm just not sure the situation is quite the same. I think it will be tough for us to trade down, but who knows? Maybe Richardson falls to us and someone wants him badly enough to trade up. As for the Rams pick, some reports say they want three 1st rounders for the pick, no QB is worth that in my opinion. I think when it's all said and done, Washington will move up and take RGIII for only two 1st rounders and a couple extra picks.

I don't see why anybody would trade up with us for Tannehill. The Bills wont take a QB after giving Fitzpatrick that massive contract and the Chiefs wont take Tannehill over Cassell. The first team likely to take Tannehill is Seattle and even that isn't certain. Going by the value chart you're saving yourself a low 3rd/high 4th by trading with the Chiefs rather than us.

If Seattle don't take Tannehill then he will probably fall to the 2nd round, in which case any of the QB needy teams could trade back into the late 1st (likely with the Pats) for him. We probably offer the least value trade for Tannehill.

I wonder how many calls the Panthers got from teams wanting to move up to get Cam. RG3 better be good because some team is going to give up a crap load to get him.

I'm assuming 0.

Cam was no where near the polished player these 2 are being touted as.

+he had the pay2play scandal.

+the media was dragging his character through the mud.

Luckily for us all that made him into what he was this season and hopefully keeps him fired up.

There's a headline on NFL.com that's really interesting right now.

- NFL

It seems that the Redskins have laid out that they're definitely willing to move up and grab RGIII. Well, we already knew that, didn't we? But, notice that it's St. Louis saying that Cleveland is also involved in the trade, now the Cleveland beat writers, while the Washington Post is saying that Washington is very interested.

This leads me to believe, along with some of the comments that RGIII doesn't really fit Pat Shurmur's West Coast offense as much as he does Shanahan's mobile-QB/Stretch offense, that the Browns may not be willing to deal that much for RGIII, instead, letting Washington take him.

Now, there have been reports that Miami is very interested in Matt Flynn, which leaves Cleveland still needing a QB. We all know that Cleveland wants a quality RB, and Trent Richardson is a guy that they could definitely take at 4. But, how will they get a QB? I think it's very possible that Cleveland could trade their 22nd pick and a 2nd or 3rd rounder to move up to the 9th spot, and take Ryan Tannehill. Reports are that Tannehill could amaze people at his Pro Day, and if he does, then I think this becomes more and more likely.

would not read into this that he fits the stretch offense rather than a WCO offense. It is more a fact that Washington is probalby iwlling the sell the farm and offer a richer deal....they have been known for going all in (even though it has seldom worked for them).

Yeah, but that team will be Washington, so it'll be a'ight.

I think we could make out better trading down with someone, but I don't know who'd be there that would make teams jump. Maybe Reiff or Blackmon, and we would take them.
