Brockers=overrated?

Is Brockers better than Still today? Maybe, maybe not. Next year, the year after? H*** yeah!
that's a big thing for me. you have to project where you think this guy will be in a couple years. what he's shown he's capable of doing in a short amount of time, talk to his coaches about where he was and how coachable he is, check out his base of knowledge and talent level and then see what you could do with him.

you do that will all players. it's only partly about the level of talent they have right at the moment. the majority is about how much growth you think could take place down the road because they are all projects coming into the league.

Lol if we draft a MLB with our first overall pick Rivera should be fired before he can put the phone down

Connor is likely gone, TD likely done, Beason is coming off a major injury and what kind of LB or future problems he will have in the future are an unknown.

LB is not a position of strength anymore. Position of unknown. Was a HUGE weakness last year.

Lot of people have said the Giants were dumb for drafting on the DL so heavily and often. Giants didn't have a masterplan and didn't specifically go into drafts trying to build a super DL like some think.....Giants purely believe you draft BPA high in the draft. If going BPA - Poe isn't in the conversation.

Drafting the BC kid is smarter than Poe. Doesn't mean it works out every time as the best move....but majority it would. LB could be argued as BPA based on how things fall.

Carolina has a lot more needs on D than DT. The DTs sucked last year but if we draft one this year he will suck too. Rookie DTs generally suck.

did i say that?

all i've said is that i wouldn't hate the pick. i'd rather us go after DT or CB.

I just don't see how it aids us at all. Keuchly just doesn't have the ability to move outside, and there isn't a single person in this board that would be okay with the talent drop off of moving Beason out there and Keuchly to the middle.

agreed. i think that DT is more of a need than LB, but i would still take the BPA among DT, CB, LB, OT, DE, and FS (more or less in that order). at the 9 spot keuchly could very well be that BPA. it's not ideal, but it's still a very smart call, imo.

Positions of need on the Panthers defense more important than MLB:

DT, NT, CB, S, OLB

This is one of those MUST GO BPA! type thing isn't it?

keuchly can play any LB position and he'd probably do it better than anyone else in the draft. plus he'd provide us with one more brilliant player in the middle of the field and a much better option than connor or anyone else if beason happens to go down again.

But it literally doesn't boost the team in any capacity. It doesn't matter how great Keuchly is if there isn't a spot for him to play. Bringing him just railroads us into moving Beason outside, or just accepting crummy play from an OLB whose poor in coverage and can't rush the QB.

It's okay to incorperate need into your drafting method.

i am. you can't count on TD to start or play a whole season.

beason won't move to the outside. that would be keuchly. i'd probably move anderson to WLB (a better fit for him) and put keuchly on the strong side.

like i said, it's not ideal but it would make the team stronger, esp. the LB corps.

If you move Keuchly outside, you're going to get at best, a nice role player. A solid contributor. Is that really why you want out of a top ten pick? At best he's AJ Hawk, but more than likely you're getting that other crummy white LB the Cowboys drafted a while back with the 15th or 16th overall pick whose name eludes me. We can do better. Take a chance.

Racial profiling ftw
