Mock Draft w/ Trade v.2(Post Combine)

horrible trade. But I mean, makes sense. That is the kind of stupid trade Hurney would make. Also, those players wouldn't be available in those positions.

Are you kidding me? Are you drunk?

Moving back and picking up another 2nd and next year's first would be a great move. If DT is your focus, there are 5-6 DT's with 1st round grades. Diff between them are fairly small. We could have Poe, Worthy, Cox, etc in the early 20's. Could then address CB, LB, or DE (2 of them) in the 2nd. Then we would have 2 1st rounders next year to have incredible flexibility.

I would take that trade in a minute.

if Claiborne falls to us then no I wouldn't do that, but looks good other than that. can't say I know much about the kid from cuse

Chandler Jones is Jon "bones" Jones's brother. He is still relatively raw, but has a good frame to add muscle and is already a pretty impressive physical specimen.

Way to think outside the box Munch. As a Lions fan from the B.Sanders era. Backus and Dominic Riola are in need of upgrading. Backus is in a contract year and they have nada behind him. They took Jason Fox out of the U in 2010 but has been injury prone. Issues i do have with the mock are first Poe's stock has skyrocketed he will not make it out of the top 15. Second, I am starting to think we should let the chips fall where they may as far as DT's. I was predicting a free fall for both Still and Brockers awhile back and at 22 both should be there.

I don't think that Brockers will fall THAT far, but his stock has to have taken some sort of a hit at the combine. I for a long time was not a fan of taking a DT in the first, here it makes a bit more sense, although I do not feel it is as big of a need as most people think. The problem is the players I would want that would be there at that point, would be a bit of a reach. Kirkpatrick and Jenkins will be gone most likely, Stephen Hill and Zack Brown may still be considered reaches at that point as well. Nobody else I really like that will be valued in the 23ish range. I wouldnt be opposed to trading down again, with someone like the Patriots, #27 and a 3rd for #23 and a 5th. Then take Zack Brown at #27 and pray for Safeties Iloka, Smith, or Martin in the third.

I thought about that too, but people might be hesitant on taking poe much earlier bc his tape doesn't really mirror what he did at the combine. Jones was somewhat unimpressive at the combine, however I like that he has huge long arms(not to mention his pedigree), very similar to JPP in that sense. And I dunno about wylie, know he performed well at the combine but it all depends on how teams feel about how injury prone he has been. Could always swap out Poe for Still and Jones for Curry if need be.

Pretty close, about 70 points off, maybe less. Lions will likely be good next year, probably better than this year if they can get a good LT and shore up their secondary. I remember reading somewhere that future first rounds were counted as half of the value of their current year pick. And seeing as the Lions desperately need a franchise LT, I could see them overpaying a bit.

We would be getting better end of that deal, but the old trade value chart is not as relevant as it was when the wage scale wasn't in place. We could really benefit by some team close to Super Bowl feels they need one piece ( OT, Richardson, Blackmon?). The question is can we get a starter or two by trading down that far? I think so, but we would have to be flexible on position. At#23, on of these-Jenkins, Cordy Glenn, Kirkpatrick, DeCastro, Worthy, Poe(I wish), Barron should be available- and anyone could start for us next year I think.

Then with 2 rd 2 picks we get other need Gilmore, Reyes, Martin, Z.Brown or Spence,

Claiborne isn't falling to #9....it's just not happening....

Claiborne won't make it past Tampa Bay, it's a lock. They've already said if he's there, they are drafting him.

As for the mock, I don't think Poe will be there at 23. I expect him (because of his size and Strength) to go early to low mid first round. I'd say around 11-15th. However, that's about the point where I would draft one of the DT's in this draft. None are all pro's and are developmental projects that are going to take time.
