Never said it was simple. Said it is the Hurney way. Godfrey was a CB. I tthink Pugh played CB in college. I even think Martin did for a few games. A nickel CB has similar reads. However, edge CBs in man do not have shoulders squared to the LOS much like a safety-I get it.

I said we need a QB in the secondary, a true Free Safety who can lead. This guy seems to be capable.

If I recall correctly, Martin was a Safety in college that Hurney and Fox wanted to convert to a CB. And they did for a few games, then Godfrey or whoever got hurt and they needed him to play Safety again and he played very well (that year, as a rookie) so they left him there.

You are right, I believe. I remember saying that we had a S playing CB and a CB (Godfrey) playing S. I think Pugh played both CB and S at A&M, because I remember reading an article about his confusion there.
