Why is there no MLB team in the Carolinas?

I've never been a soccer fan, but I had a hell of a time watching the Charlotte 49ers run to the National Championship game last year. Maybe my disinterest was always a result of not having a team to get attached to.

Some one did a study. If you took all the BS out of baseball, the pitcher waving off signs, the batter stepping in and out of the box, etc.

Just the action, pitcher pitching, batter hitting, fielders felding. The game would be 15 minutes long! No wonder people just tune into Sports Center for the highlights.

That would be an excellent point but it's not considering the same studies show that if you took all the bs (timeouts, playcalling, huddle, etc) out of football it would only be 11 mins long.

That is the part that makes baseball great to me. It's all part of it. It's not just the game, it's the numbers behind it, the strategy, stats, etc. It's a thinking man's game.

I think Charlotte would support a MLB team better than Tampa supports the Rays. That's for sure.

I also think Charlotte would support a MLB team about the same as Atlanta supports the Braves.
