Why is there no MLB team in the Carolinas?

Charlotte Metro area won't support a sh*tty NBA team, there's no reason to think that it will support a sh*tty MLB team!

Face it, Jerry Reese, you aren't going to get the Yankees, BoSox, Rangers, ect. to relocate here! You are going to get some last place team, other than the Cubbies, to relocate here.

Get a life and let Charlotte, (even though I think that East Charlotte (with it's empty Big Box stores) would be a better fit for a AAA Stadium.) Build a AAA stadium.

Then in 20+ years when the stadium needs to be replaced, Charlotte MIGHT be ready for a major league team.

The problem with letting the city of Charlotte or Mecklenburg Co. You can kiss low priced hotdogs, sodas and beer good bye! The prices at a new stadium will be the same as Panther's Stadium! :eek::ma:

There was some talk years ago about putting a mlb team in the Triad. I believe the twins were going to move here. But the locals voted down the tax increase that was requested to pay for the stadium. I am glad they did, because we don't have anywhere near the population necessary to support a baseball team.

This. The Twins were going to make the move, and I'm glad they didn't. No way a MLB team can survive here. The NBA shouldn't and really doesn't either.

Charlotte isn't big enough to support MLB. The Triangle, maybe, but lots of people would have to commute. Oddly, Atlanta has terrible attendence yet the Braves will never leave.
