La Canfora has Claiborne falling to us

I hadn't watched enough of Kirkpatrick to know for sure. The times I watched him, what did stand out was his physicality, but I hate Alabama's defense. For whatever reason, their players seem strong and physical overall, but slower, at least compared to other SEC defenses.

I liked Kirkpatrick's length and tackling ability, but I hadn't seen enough of him to judge his coverage skills.

It's the opposite with Claiborne... There are specific plays I remember seeing him make amazing adjustments and knock balls away or intercept them, but I don't remember much in terms of him coming up against the run or big tackles.

From what I saw they both came from different system but both will be good. I feel Kirkpatrick is more plug n play because he was in a pro system but Claiborne is more talented.

LSU's defense should definitely be considered a "pro system" as well. Both of the defenses, 'Bamas and LSU's, are very similar to each other, and both churn out very good defensive NFL players.

I could actually see Jacksonville picking Claiborne at #7 if he falls to them. It's very unlikely he'll be around until 9. What's alright about the Panthers losing the coin toss is the Dolphins and Panthers have different needs and probably won't be after too many of the same players.

LSU plays primarily man coverage while Bama runs a mixture of the two. Thats what I was talking about. Both defenses are good and really I was just trying to separate the two players where both are very good. Both played the the SEC so both have seen talent on the other side of the ball so transitions should not be hard for either.

Jacksonville need help at WR more than any other team. If they dont get that then they are not going to improve much. They will pick WR even if its a reach to help out there franchise QB.

If the Panthers could take any player in this draft.. it might be Claiborne. I think they would run to the podium if he were available. I think there is a very small chance that he is there at #9, but highly unlikely. Several things would have to go just right for that to happen.

Jacksonville also needs a DE. They had the least amount of sacks in the NFL last season.

mm lots of good stuff in those 6 pages I just went through, but I have to say. . . I amazed that so many of you think this is implausible. It's somewhat plausible for several reasons, but just to name a few I would think, one, there are many players that seem worth trading for in this draft, and two, there's a sucker born every minute. The Golden Calf of Bristol went in the first  . . . dont be so sure about this not happening.

There are lots of teams that do stupid things on draft day. Im hoping we're not one of them this year and if Claiborne falls to 9, get him, if not lets hop back and try get one of those top 5 Poe, Perry, Brockers, Cox, or Still.

I could see it. Fisher wants to build for the future, starting now. He also wants to bring in his guys. It makes sense, but I don't know how plausible it is.

But just off trading the #2 pick he can get alot of picks and still a top 10 pick this year. No need to trade out of the top 10.

I think they could get the Redskins 6th pick their 3rd and 4th or 5th round pick and 2 other 1st round in later years. Maybe even a player.
