La Canfora has Claiborne falling to us

running back in the first round over the best cornerback? I don't know, what happened to running backs being a dime a dozen. They're desperate for some offense for sure, but that desperate?

fixed. We're the Panthers, remember? Janoris is not joining our team.

There coach is a run first guy and will want another back. Still they could also take DT because they were desperate for inside push last year. Thus the signing of lazy fat ass.

DT is the biggest need for sure. CB is second. DE (Coples) is a luxury that rates quite a bit higher than a luxury pick of WR (Blackmon) based on availability.

Can Poe be Kris Jenkins for 4+ years and earn the payday to stay that Kris did not?

Not sure about that but I do feel better about MC getting the job done for some reason. If it's a toss up between the two at the 9th pick (highly doubtful) I think I would take MC over Poe just because I feel more confident about him maintaining his athleticism more than any 300 lb plus who amazingly can run sub 5 sec. 40's.

It's a hard call for me... I'd say DT and CB are equal in need depending on who is there. If Caliborne is there at 9 we take him, if not, we trade back and take Poe. Those are the guys I think we should target as the best available to us at each position.

I'd also put LB up there behind those two as the next biggest need.

If we take Poe in the first, I'm confident we'd get great production out of Jenkins (if we're legitimately interested in him), Gilmore, or Hosely. And that isn't even factoring in how good Hogan may be coming in healthy and ready to go next season.

Jenkins personality issues if you want to call it that are overblown. Hes the most talented corner in the draft, size and no public character concerns make Clairborne the higher rated pick.

He had bad influences in Fla and only encourage

d him to smoke weed.He got in a bar fight because he was protecting himself from being robbed, I'm sure you'd do the same if you were 21 and could whip someone's ass like he did. Yes he has 4 kids that he started on at the age of 20, when he was big man on campus at fla. They are all evidently with the same woman.

He had the opportunity to enter the regular draft after his junior season and projected as a high pick then. Then he got kicked off the team for smoking weed after it was too late to declare for the draft. He then could have entered the supplemental draft and been picked.Instead he transferred to a small school to get his poo together and continue to hone his skills. He has done all the right things to pay for his past mistakes, he doesent run from them, rather he acknowledges them and has learned from them.

He has shown great humility and likely put those past concerns behind him. Sucks he had to go through that learning and humbling process but I believe he's a better man for it.

So essentially he has all the talent you can ask for and now the maturity to go with it.

Poe at 9th ? All of you guys who want Poe at 9th are out of yo mind.

There only players that is worth at 9th are: Claiborne, kalil, coples, n brockers bc of his size n football speed. Not bc of 40 yd speed. Brockers is much faster on football speed than poe. If you want Poe, we could trade down add more picks n take him in the 20s.

Speak for yourself. I always wanted Claiborne, still do. I'm all for a CB or DT. If he falls, its a no brainer. You take that CB.

Exactly.

It was Claiborne from the beginning for pretty much everyone here (Well, minus the UNC homers wanting Coples).

If the draft works out like this, and Claiborne does fall to us, I wish that Hurney would trade back into the first round, and grab Poe as well. Could you imagine the Draft of Claiborne, Poe, and maybe Joe Adams in a late round? Insane.

Can you clarify this?

How could we trade back and still get Claiborne if he falls to 9th?

Agreed

Claiborne was one of the biggest wants here when it looked like we might end the year with 3 or 4 wins. The only reason his name has come up is the idea he could fall to us.

It would be a miracle if he fell to us.

First, Claiborne and Kalil will most likely be gone at 9. I would be surprised if Kalil makes it past 3 and Claiborne past 5.

Second, I'm not a huge fan of Coples. Seems like such a luxury pick for a team that has holes elsewhere.

Third, Brockers has so limited film on him that it's hard to say what he's capable of. If you draft Brockers, you're drafting on potential. Is he faster than Poe? I don't know. His 10yard Split wasn't faster. Is he as strong as Poe? I don't know, he didn't put up the weights that Poe put up.

Also, Poe and Brockers will most likely play different positions in the NFL. Poe is a definite NT. He's big, he demands double teams, and he eats up a lot of space. He honestly looks like he can be a Teddy Washington type player.

As in, trade back into the 1st round. Like, draft Claiborne at 9, then, trade some picks to move up into the 1st round, again. Resulting in two first round draft picks.
