If we want a NT- look no further than Dontari Poe

Have you ever seen him play?

If everyone is going to fall in love just reading about him then don't skip the parts that say he's not very good at leverage and gets blown off the ball despite his size and strength.

yep, lots of workout warriors......aren't the same type beasts on the football field. That is why GMs don't put too much stock in these combine workouts.......everything you did with pads on matters a lot. Brockers was a better DT this past year.

Brockers fan boys getting jealous.
i just want the best DT prospect possible to help out the interior of the Dline. doesn't matter to me who it is. i'd be fine with poe or cox or whoever.

that said...people getting all excited about poe's numbers in the 40

@ckparrot: Fact of the matter is, Paul Soliai had a 1.63 second 10 yard split at 6'4" and 344 lbs. it's uncommon, but not unheard of.

still impressive but not unique for someone that size.

It's hilarious reading about who you all of a sudden like better when you've never seen these guys play a down.

Poe was a second team Conference USA defensive linemen. If you need to Google the teams in that conference, go ahead.

too bad he wasn't allowed to race the opposing DTs for a point or something.

But, what I have seen is repeated "can't miss" DTs coming out of LSU and when they get to the pros they suck.

Every combine they come in, post average-subpar numbers, but they have to be taken! They're from LSU! They're good, they play against the best!

...

I don't want Brockers. Never was a fan, and after today, I'm even less of one.

Even Mayock said part of what hurt Poe in Memphis was the lack of surrounding talent and his issues are coachable.

I also love Poe more than Brockers. He has Ngata potential.

not anti-poe at all, but saying that he has ngata potential isn't too far off from saying that brockers has *insert dominant UT/5Tech guy*. ngata actually produced well in college and was a lot more productive in college than poe.

both guys have massive potential but criticism for both is the same...why wasn't it seen on the tape? i'd say brockers looked more impressive but i haven't seen much poe tape around. both are raw projects with a poo ton of potential.

i think that fletcher cox could be the most ready to go of all of them, but i think their coachability and the team they land on will be the final dictator. i really see all three of these guys being great in the league.

At this point, my guess is both Cox and Poe go before Brockers.

No, it's not just the combine showing. In Brockers' case, he just hasn't been that impressive either in games or at the combine. He is going to fall.

Poe wasn't that impressive in games.

Goes back to the Cam Newton principle...combine isn't going to make or break you. It will get the media talking and Al Davis might be looking down from heaven...but all the other stuff is what makes or breaks these top guys.

Poe is a workout warrior. He won't be the first DT off the board.

Did Cam Newton fall or rise with his subpar combine? Pretty sure his stock climbed to #1 overall. Teams will factor in the rest more heavily than these drills.
