If we want a NT- look no further than Dontari Poe

But you lose any credibility when you say some of hiis timed performance were good. That isn't half of it. His timed performances were extraordinary, exceptional, bordering on epic. A 350 lb nose tackle running that fast and having that much explosive ability is ridiculous. The on field drill are the ones that don't matter. They are simply technique which is learned. On the other hand, raw speed and athleticism you either have or don't.

I think I am done here. If you can't look at his performance and see it for what it is, nothing I can say will make a difference. You just don't get it.

Lol. You're actually trying to convince people (and truthfully, I think yourself as well) that combine times are indicative of good football players. The on-field drills are on the ones that showcase actual football skills. I just find it to be comedic that you would accuse me of not playing the game (which is so far from accurate that it makes me giggle) and then try to convince me 40 times and bench presses are the trademarks of good football players, while things that require actual on field-ability are meaningless.

Let me share a tip with you I learned from my playing days-NFL players are expected to be able to do the things they do in those on-field drills. If they can't-if a player shows stagnant hips, poor maneuverability, weak lateral agility, poor concentration, etc, etc etc...that will cause a player to fall. That is what's being scouted. The amount of hype that surrounds 40 times is nothing but crap, churned out by the media-and it's sad that you, who typically try to convey yourself as a reliable poster, would fall for it hook line and sinker.

Yes, indeed, I do think we're done here.

My buddies are big Vanderbilt fans so we'd go to a bar that showed Memphis and Vandy games.

Gotcha.

You could't pay me to watch CUSA football.

BTW you don't know heartbreak like the damn doors last season.

I assume you're talking about Vandy. They had a good year and improved. They are a scrappy team defensively and their record wasn't indicative of how they played. They just happen to play in the best conference. The loss to Tennessee was a downer though. But Rodgers is going to be good.

This is fuging gold! LOL! Your reading comprehension failed miserably again. I gave you another hint. See if you can figure it out this time.

Your butthurt is off the charts. I'm sorry you got pissed off when you said some dumb poo and myself and other called you out on it and/or laughed at you.

I keep waiting for you to say something that isn't some dumb internet meme and it just keeps not happening. Next you'll spout out that I'm "just so ignaant

or ask me "WHy I MaD?!" or some other tired overdone e-line and I'll keep sitting here, pondering why you're such an angry person.

It bleeds a lack of self-confidence on your part, really. Having to resort lines like "butthurt" and other silly lines that still have no clear relevance to what I initially said.

Really, when it comes down to it:

It's always nice to get a bead on the next Big East team.

There's also a remarkable football savant in Atlanta sports radio named Chuck Oliver who has been talking about Poe for over a year. The guys is a freak of nature when it comes to watching college football.

:smilielol5:

Says this, then posts meme. For the record, you're the only one of us who has posted or referred to a meme in any way.

If you actually did play football, I think you're a candidate to be the poster child for the long-term effects of multiple concussions. Either that or you always rode the short bus to school.

In other words, you're a fuging idiot and you prove it with every post you make.

For the record, I posted a meme to convery a sense of irony, since that's something that seems to strike a chord with you, evidenced by this statement here.

Truthfully sir, (madam?) It looks a lot like you set out just to attack me, which would be okay if you were any good at it. Trolling someone can be fun, I get that. But you actually have to be good at what you're doing for it to accomplish what you're trying to accomplish. All your doing is

"Argh! Youz so dumb!"

And I'm like..

"What?"

And then your all like:

"Ha!, Why you mad, brah?

You're just raging, and continuing to make yourself look like a fool. Next time you troll someone, try to lay off the traditional internet lines, it really dampens your credibility (and gives you away) and makes you looked like you just hopped off Reddit with your 16 year old friends and were mad cause you couldn't find a 13 year girl you liked.

I'm done with you. I see that your intellectual ability is woefully lacking.

I just ask of you to read back through your posts and see how defensive you became instantly as soon as others questioned your views. You immediately lashed out at anyone and everyone who thought differently.

You seem to think of me as some internet geek, while you ramble on about internet geek things that I have no idea what they are or even mean. I'm sorry you're insecure about being an internet geek. Embrace it and love yourself for who you are, man.

I'm done with you. You don't know much about the evaluation of football players and you're an angry, angry little man. There's not much left to say to you or about you.

You are hijacking the thread and I am not playing along. (we can discuss in the Hill thread where it belongs)

So lets stay with Poe. First of all do you know what position he played at Memphis and do you know what defensive scheme they ran??

That would be primary a nose tackle in a 3-4 although they moved him around some and played a 4-3 at times. But he was constantly double teamed as they few other linemen to worry about. So how many sacks would he get?? Plus as a junior he played against teams with more experienced guys who again doubled him. So how many tackles and sacks do you expect.

He had mediocre stats and wasn't dominant in college. Does it raise questions? I think it does. That is why he was a low first rounder to begin with. Again, you have to ask whether you want to develop him or just pick someone like Cox who is more ready to play right away. I can see why people have doubts. I don't but my career doesn't revolve on getting it right.

Fair enough. But he isn't the first DT or NT to get that kind of attention. I was impressed with his athleticism today. With his 10 yard split which translates to explosiveness off the line I would just have thought he would have been more productive. Couple that with the fact that Conference USA doesn't have elite talent in the trenches... I just feel like he should have been more productive with that kind of talent in that kind of conference.

I guess it depends on what we are expecting out of him. We have a space eater already with Ron Edwards assuming he is back to 100% and we just used two third round picks at DT last year. I find it hard to justify going DT this year unless he is a Suh or Dareus type prospect.

But if we pick him I will be happy and quickly drink the Poe-laid.
