If we want a NT- look no further than Dontari Poe

Some merit? Who are you exactly??? If you have coached at all or evaluated talent or even played, you wouldn't make these comments.

It is widely acknowledged that 10 yard splits are the defining drill for DTs. Field drills just indicate what we all know which is he is raw. But that is just technique which is easily coached. Speed agility and athleticism you can't teach. Anyone who has even coached midget football knows that.

You're overreacting to what I'm saying. If you can openly admit that his performance on field today was "meh" and still react as such-you're taking it too personally.

All I said was that his on field skills were average (and in some cases slightly below.) you're the one who grouped it in with his performance as a whole. I have no problem saying some of his timed performances we're good. Just that most of those drills are largely useless.

You really are dumber than fuging rocks.

Go back and read your original reply to me and see if you can figure it out.

Sadly, you obviously do think about what you're saying... and that's a pretty damn scary thought considering the results of your deep thought.

Poster A makes comment.

Poster B posts emoticon without any actual informative response.

Poster B says Poster A can't read and is expletive stupid.

Is this like the Twilight Zone or something?

Read your post again. If you're too stupid to figure out where your reading comprehension failed, then I can't help you.

Your level of butthurt on this thread is amusing.

I've been on this bandwagon for a few weeks now. Poe is the best DT in the draft and it's not even close, IMO. I wouldn't be upset at all if we took him at 9th overall.

Me either.last week I didn't think so but after today watching him move like that,he might have more upside than Brockers. Poe is the better athlete and remember Tyson Alualu was considered a 2nd rounder until draft day when the jags mde their pick.

The best part of this thread is anyone talking about "watching tape."

You've never watched game film in your life.

You've never had an end zone angle in your life.

You have youtube highlights set to Let the Bodies hit the Floor.

For the sake of not hijacking the thread with the Hill debate I will just say that if you think that Gettis who is an inch shorter Hill, jumped 5 inches less in the vertical than Hill, and ran a 4.51 officially at the combine, and jumped 7 inches less in the broad than Hill is the same as Hill who ran a 4.36 officially at 6'4 you are crazy. Hill's combine is only comparable to Calvin Johnson's when you take everything into account (I am not saying he is the next Calvin Johnson just comparing combine numbers).

Gettis had 655 yards and 3 TDs his Senior year at Baylor which runs a spread offense and Hill had nearly 1,000 receiving yards with an offense that runs an option.

The two are not even really that close. In combine numbers or production coming out of college.

And I have said I like Poe but I am always wary of guys with those physical skills that didn't dominate in a smaller conference.

How many sacks did he have last year?? One? Honest question, because ESPN is some times shaky with their defensive stats.

I understand that he had no help but when you are that physically imposing and you play against lesser talent in the trenches it seems you should have better production.

You are hijacking the thread and I am not playing along. (we can discuss in the Hill thread where it belongs)

So lets stay with Poe. First of all do you know what position he played at Memphis and do you know what defensive scheme they ran??

That would be primary a nose tackle in a 3-4 although they moved him around some and played a 4-3 at times. But he was constantly double teamed as they few other linemen to worry about. So how many sacks would he get?? Plus as a junior he played against teams with more experienced guys who again doubled him. So how many tackles and sacks do you expect.

He had mediocre stats and wasn't dominant in college. Does it raise questions? I think it does. That is why he was a low first rounder to begin with. Again, you have to ask whether you want to develop him or just pick someone like Cox who is more ready to play right away. I can see why people have doubts. I don't but my career doesn't revolve on getting it right.

Haha! It's so true. Unless you're a fan of a team, the chances of you having watched more than a few minutes of game play is slim to none. That's why fans are so obsessed with the Combine. It gives us our best look at most of the prospects.

I'm a big UNC fan. I don't want Quentin Coples.

memphis really played more of a hybrid 3-1-3 like the cardinals run whenever i caught their games.

that's mostly because their defense was terrible and they didn't have the personnel to do anything.

"well uh, you three guys go there, and you guys go there, and, uh, steve, just kinda play jazz out there."

Let's recap this gem of a conversation for those who didn't get to watch it happen live:

Not one person wants to talk about the fact that besides the useless crap (40. Time on a DLmen? Lol) Poe had a pretty average day.

:smilielol5:

This translates to me as "I really don't have the mental capacity to formulate a counter response, but I do know that Poe can run 40 yards in five seconds, and that's what counts."

Why don't you share with us your evaluation of Poe's performance in the on-field drills, George? Why don't we hear your input?

Your reading comprehension sucks, that's for sure.

Are there really people like this? You posted an emoticon. A single emoticon. There was nothing to read but you showing you didn't have an informed counter response.

You really are dumber than fuging rocks.

Is this like the Twilight Zone or something?

Lol. So apparently, I have a very difficult time deciphering emoticons, which implies that I'm far inferior to George's intelligence level, and clearly, he isn't the one whose angry about it, but I am.

Interesting theory.

I'm gonna try and put an emoticon down in response, but bare with me, I may have some struggles, this not really being my area of expertise and all.

 at you.

There. Nailed it.

But you lose any credibility when you say some of hiis timed performance were good. That isn't half of it. His timed performances were extraordinary, exceptional, bordering on epic. A 350 lb nose tackle running that fast and having that much explosive ability is ridiculous. The on field drill are the ones that don't matter. They are simply technique which is learned. On the other hand, raw speed and athleticism you either have or don't.

I think I am done here. If you can't look at his performance and see it for what it is, nothing I can say will make a difference. You just don't get it.

This is fuging gold! LOL! Your reading comprehension failed miserably again. I gave you another hint. See if you can figure it out this time.

Your butthurt is off the charts. I'm sorry you got pissed off when you said some dumb poo and myself and other called you out on it and/or laughed at you.
