maybe....if true then Coples would be a great pick. I have serious questions about his drive. However, Rivera seems to be big on guys who want to win. I don't think we would draft him if we weren't sure his heart was in it.

you and me both. i could understand if the talent wasnt there,but the guy has way too much talent. has the ability to be dominant. im still really stuck between Coples and Brockers.

I think some people are too judgmental of Quinton Coples. I honestly think some people believe a DE sucks if they aren't close to sacking the QB on every down. Sure, there are question marks with Coples involving last year, but I believe interviews will help clear up some of the issues. The way I look at it, Brockers, Coples, or Reiff would look wonderful in Panthers black and would be instant upgrades at their positions.

He has the ability to play multiple positions on the line. Fact.

He had a stellar junior campaign. Fact.

He was pretty much non-existent against above-average teams this year. Fact.

Bottom line is the guy should have dominated the ACC this year, and he didn't. Mailing it in, doesn't like someone I want to be spending a top 10 pick on. Plus, there are plenty of "sure fire" guys whose athletic abilities are off the charts. See Aaron Curry.

As I stated before, I don't think Hurney and Rivera would draft him, if they didn't believe he was committed to winning, so if we draft him I will be happy because I trust their judgement.

You take Coples because he's generational and Hurney is BPA at all cost.

About the BPA thing, I don't know if Hurney is philosophically that far off center towards it early in the draft, based on who he's picked. Though I would be fine with us taking Coples over Brockers because DL in general is a need and must be addressed

More people need to understand this: The Giants can beat any team in the league because of their QB and defensive line. So far we're halfway there (Cam), but the other half is, ...overall putrid. Also I would like to note that the first thing Coughlin did when he was rebuilding in NY was taking Eli Manning (or taking Philip Rivers as a bargaining chip to get Eli Manning). The next thing he did was draft Justin Tuck (2005), Matthias Kiwanuka and Barry Cofield(2006), Jay Alford (2007), and sign Chris Canty and Rocky Bernard, with their latest acquisition being the ridiculously productive Jason Pierre-Paul. And they already had Strahan and a young Osi Umenyiora to build around at the start of it.
