Comparing QB Robert Griffin III to Cam Newton draws laughs from NFL talent evaluators

I always compared RGIII to be a more mobile version of Drew Brees. Yet I'm sure Cam doesn't mind people comparing another black QB to himself. In fact, he talked about that earlier in how people was comparing him to Jamarcus Russell. So Cam tried to set a new standard on how people view black QBs. Of course not that I think it is an ethnicity issue, we do the same with white QBs. If a white QB came out of college running like Vick, they would probably compare him to Doug Flutie or Fran Tarkenton.:D

It's the human nature, but one day we will get past how a guy looks on the outside, and look solely on skillset.

That'll never happen.

Cam went in to one of the top SEC offenses and made it better last year. He was obviously a major part of that team, the most important part. But it was as much certain defensive players who won them games that year as him. It was not as if Cam was the only one playing the game on that team... Look at how the defense managed to respond, too. Auburn was more than Cam Newton. And they lost more than Cam Newton.

You know nothing mav. Cam was obviously the only one on the team and won every game by himself

Lets not use two extremes. Impossible to win by yourself, but there is such a thing as making the guys around you better. Thats what Cam did at Auburn.

I agree he did. But to act like he is the only player Auburn lost and the sole reason they were worse this year is stupid

How is "Cam was the most important part of the team but the defense also helped them win many games, and they lost more than Cam this year" an extreme?

Name an offensive starter for Auburn other than Darvin Adams (since he was on our roster/practice squad or whatever)

I can't name any starters on LSU's offense, or Alabama's, or any SEC school, but primarily because of this board I did learn Dyer, Ziemba, Darvin, etc :P

However, if you don't believe that Auburn had a good offense before Cam (as if you need to know the names of starters on a unit for it to be good) go look up their 2009 ranking. They were #2 in the SEC in total offense and top 5 in scoring (can't recall exactly where) if I recall and top 20 nationally for total offense and scoring offense, which is pretty impressive for the SEC. Cam didn't walk into a junk heap and make them national contenders, he was the instrumental piece in turning a good offense into an amazing one.

So you didn't know who Trent Richardson was? Lies.
