Welker has grown into a number 1.

Colston is still his number 1 target, injuries or not.

No, i think the dside needs to be addressed but if the FO believes there is a sure fire WR there i have no problems with them taking him.

Do you know what

Reggie Wayne

Vincent Jackson

Stevie Johnson

number were their 1st 2 years?

Roddy White didn't until year 3 neither steve smith or reggie wayne. Not every #1 WR is Randy Moss, Megatron, Or AJ green. None in this draft is either.

you dont know that yet.you cant say it takes 3 years for a WR to develop than say its not one that will develop in this draft.im down for giving them time to develop, but that also doesnt mean you dont bring in comp to push your young guys. either they develop, or get buried on the depth.

waiting for young guys to develop is how this team got in a rut at the WR position already.

Drafting WR every year aren't a great way to build a team either. They already have comp. Each other and Pilars.

I might not know but their is no scouting site calling any WR in this draft Megatron or once in a life time talent.

Excuse me if my response was a little bit more aggressive than I meant, but it's a running trend on a lot of draft sites and around here that gets annoying fast. Too many small receivers to count have been compared to Smith, and often for the wrong reasons. So yes, all apologies for taking out my issues with a class of people on a single individual.

Accepted, no biggie. Welcome to the Huddle. You have a point, just not in this case.

you are not drafting WR every year, and just because a draftnik or site said there is not a nfl superstar clone in this draft doesnt mean there is not one.

Why are people so crazy about WR?

Gettis and Lafell say "please give us a chance before wasting a pick."

:mad2:

no kidding, how in the world can anyone come to the WR conclusion when all the facts are assessed.

Must be new math or something

If we draft a WR at 8/9 and his name is not Blackmon we have the dumbest FO in the league. If his name is Blackmon and he isn't drafted in hopes to trade him and pick up a third withing the first 30 minutes following the pick, our FO is barely better than the bottom 50% of FO's in the league.

ETA:

IMO, to place this in perspective, taking a WR at 8/9 sounds as stupid as taking a RB at 8/9

when you say take Wright it sounds no different than if you said take Richardson.

We don't need a ******* WR folks
