Backup QB - Brady Quinn?

Brady Quinn can't run a vertical passing attack with an option running attack. So the idea that he would be a good option here is ridiculous. Clausen can do what Quinn can do which frankly isn't much. Quinn is going to be out in Denver. I heard that Denver is looking for 2 quarterbacks to back up The Golden Calf of Bristol. So tell me again why we would want to bring in a quarterback who is not even good enough to be The Golden Calf of Bristol's backup.

Based on this article, Quinn made some less-than-flattering remarks about The Golden Calf of Bristol in a recent interview. The Broncos will look to upgrade at QB, even with The Golden Calf of Bristol's success last year, and Brady Quinn could very well be looking for a new team. Derek Anderson is a free agent and there's no guarantee he'll be back. Jimmy Clausen is still under contract but all bets are off on him.

Quinn had two years under Rob Chudzinksi in Cleveland. I consider him a lot like Clausen though...a highly touted Notre Dame prospect who couldn't handle the NFL. But he hasn't gotten much playing time, not even as much as Clausen. He could come cheaper than Anderson and could bring good competition to training camp.

I'm not advocating he be the backup...but he might be someone the Panthers look at.

He is better than Anderson, having watched them both in Cleveland extensively.

Does not fit Chud's system any better than a guy like Clausen, though they are different players. Quinn has a bigger arm, might not be as accurate. I think Quinn will stick in this league as a back up for a few years; but question his ability to ever be accurate enough to hold down a starting job.

He is a different player than he was at Notre Dame--and this is a different league then killing the sisters of the poor every Saturday. For whatever the reason, Quinn was a much different player in Cleveland when I watched him for parts of 2 seasons (he has never gotten much of a true shot) than when I watched him at Notre Dame for 3 years.

He had to have back surgery, I'm not sure about failed physicals though.

He said he is now 100%, and plans on playing in '12.

I still think Dixon is the best option though.

changed my post.. and I don't always trust what a player says.. I expect him to say he's 100% and ready to play again.

I think Dixon is a very solid option, but I know he wants to start somewhere or be in a situation where that may become possible...
