Is Antonio Garay a realistic FA target?

As I've already stated, Garay is a better pass rusher.

If you think Garay would be a great 3 tech DT then you are mistaken. He might lead all DT in PprS but how many time did he really rush the passer? He his a run stopper and not much more. Now that is fine and we really need a guy like that, but as stated, we have in Ron. Sure those two could stop the run we need someone to colapse the pocket. Tommie Harris is someone that I think we should take a look at. He might not be what he once was but he showed last year that he can still play at a high level and more important that he is healthy finally. If not him then someone in that mold.

The question first is whether Garay is a NT or 3 Tech DT. If he is a nose tackle then we already have one signed on a 3 year deal so it doesn't matter whether he is better or not. We won't sign him. If we think he is a 3 technique guy or that Edwards can be a 3 technique guy, then we might take a shot.

On the other hand if he is a good nose tackle, someone is going to pay him well even though he is older than Edwards. If this was a choice last year, we likely would be in the hunt, but I think the timing is not right. And I think we will look for our 3 technique tackle in the draft.

I wouldn't mind Garay but I think the guy we really need to pursue is Jason Jones (assuming the Titans don't resign him). He's young and is one of the best interior pass rushers in the league. They switched him to DE and he had a pedestrian year. If he is available he should be well within our range and he is young.

I think an interior pass rusher is a real possibility because Rivera said he wanted to take extra snaps from charles johnson who was playing too much on the interor because of our pewp interior lineman.
