Beason has spoken with Houston linebacker DeMeco Ryans, who started all 16 games in 2011 after sitting out the final 10 games of the 2010 season after tearing his Achilles. Ryans, whose tackles total fell from 123 in 2009 to 64 last year, told Beason to expect his foot to feel different.

"He just said, 'Once you get out there, it's going to feel weird,' " Beason said. "Not that it's unstable. It's different. It's not what it used to be. It's been altered.' He said, 'Take your time. It's slow.' "

Yup, people expecting Beason to step in and pick right up where he left off are in for a big surprise, I'm thinking it will take Beason at least 1/2 the season to get his bearings.

--not really. This from my earlier post sort of addresses that concern. It is a tough injury to recover from.

He'll be cheap, and it won't hurt the team any to have him on the roster. I certainly won't count him out. He is a warrior. I hope he does come back...would love to see him knocking heads again.

May noot happen...but having him on the roster going into camp isn't far fetched. If the panthers want to cut him...he'd likely be gone already.
