Davis and Beason update

Everyone must have forgotten Dan Morgan. You can't keep crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.

Cut and re-sign for close to vet minimum, as that is all he's getting elsewhere, or cut and move on. Personally I think it's time to move on. Three years without any significant football is going to effect the level of his play, let alone his speed and explosion.

I don't doubt he will rehab in time for training camp, I just think it's time to bring in a replacement.

I'm pretty sure he'll be okay in time for training camp. He was injured in week 2.

It can't be said one way or the other. He is done or he'll be back. The only logical course of action is to wait and see. As to my understanding, Davis' first two injuries were non contact, and the third was contact related. This is a huge difference. He changed doctors had a different procedure, upped his rehab and has been going hard everyday with one of the hardest working players in the game. What does this mean? Idk. Will he make a full recovery? Idk. Just let the man chase his dream. The front office will sort out the financials so for that I'm not worried. We all know what 58 and 52 can do together. Just let em try.

^LOL, dude you do the same thing all the time.

His Doctor doesn't think there will be a problem with him playing football so how do you know he's done? I'd take a doctors word over someone who probably hasn't even studied medicine before.

And.. we always take care of our own.
Whether people want to hear that or not, it might be the most important piece of this puzzle.....It's a statement made through actions that this franchise has shown over and over again. Don't think players don't take serious note of this. For better and for worse, it's a part of this franchise's identity. I think it's a net gain in the long run.

Only bad things happen if you let davis go and only good things if you keep him on the cheap. I dont think the knee will hold up, but someone is going to take one last shot with him. What if the knee is good to go and its not us? Personally I think he should retire. I dont want to see my man in a wheelchair. Thats not happening so if hes going to try to play it needs to be here.

I agree, but the procedure was not the same, and if the doc actually said that, then it gives us hope. I am starting to feel good about it. Beason, on the other hand, might have a slow year. I wish Connor had one more year here-wonder if they would consider franchising him for that reason? He would be WAY over-paid, but it would be for 1 year.

i think we should definitely make sure he's back and i'm pretty confident that he's got things right this time. he used the best doctor this time and he's got a good report from him so i'll go on hoping for the best there because if he does happen to be healthy then i want him out there and, imo, it's worth the risk...as long as you make it a better contract for the panthers.

that said, we shouldn't act like everything is ok with him and will be. we need to be working on finding his replacement through draft or FA.

the reason people don't want to give him a chance is that he's taking up a roster spot of someone else who might be able to do what he does without getting injured.

imo he's still worth a shot, but we have to assume that he's going to be unable to stay healthy.
