Joe Everett says panthers want to trade up

Pretty sure we would rather trade up for Claiborne instead of Brockers, if that was the case. And knowing Hurney wanted to trade up for Clausen means he should never be allowed to even think about it again.

To me, considering our needs, trading down makes much more sense. I realize trading down is not always an option, but MH has said two things during recent interviews that I picked up on:

1. Trade down is a possibility if we have several people on the board with equal grades (and I have to think that is the case in the second quarter of round one)

2. An offensive player could be taken in the first round. I have to think he is referring to OT.

Brockers is special. However, the Rams had Gary Gibson at DT for part of the year, and their other 2 DTs are well over 30. I cannot see them passing up Brockers if they trade with Washington and Blackmon and Claiborne are off the board. Come on Cleveland, make a play.

Hurney didnt show his hand til the day before the draft when he had the 1st pick.......ima leave it at that.

Actually it was somewhere between 2 weeks before and a month before the draft when he did that. By April it was a pretty sure bet Cam would be the pick. Obviously since we have the 8th/9th pick he probably won't show his hand until the pick is in (which is what he should be doing).

I could see a trade happening. But it would be a trade down. Trading up and losing more picks would be beyond stupid when you already have a really high pick.

Not necessarily.

The 8/9 pick is not a "really high" pick.

Most of the elite players will be off the board and the difference between those likely to be available at 8/9 and those that will be there around 20 is not that great.

It depends on who is slipping at 5...6...7. If there is a person we covet, moving up to get them VERY WELL may be a smart option.

IDK I could see someone like the Cowboys trading up from 14 or someone trying to get Tannerhill. Never can tell especially before the Combine.

trading UP for Brockers?

With who and for what?

This does not even make sense.

more and more of these crackpots get run. Just because some jackleg with domain mentions the Panthers, we don't need to link it much less consider it. You guys are smarter than this. I hope.

I did nothing but criticize the guy who came up with that crap. I clearly stated how uncredible he is and provided solid proof of it. I also played the odds in assuming someone else would have eventually posted it and I just wanted to address it before it got out of hand.
