From Cam to RG111 psychology of draft analysis

After reading the article, I simply don't see why folks are so afraid of the truth. The folks in the media had an agenda and that was to put their preferred QB on the top of the draftboard...FYI, guys it happens every season. Last season, after Luck dropped out Blaine Gabbert got the nod. The problem was, he really wasn't a first round draft pick and the so called media experts knew it. He really shouldn't have been in the top ten, nevermind competiting with Cam for the number one draft. But since Cam was the top QB, it was easy to push Blaine ahead of him by playing the "safer QB" game.

Do I believe that behind the attack on Cam there some bias or racism? I will be supid to say no because it was more then clear that Cam was the only QB who was treated as if he didn't belong in the QB position. Where as, the other QBs, just had to prove they can handle their jobs as QBs.

I said before and I will say it again, RGIII will not be treated in the same harsh and clearly bias manner as Cam because these so called draft esperts got who they wanted at number one and he has done enough talent to help them keep him there, unlike Blaine. RGIII will be scrutinized and he will be measured more harshly than Luck, I can bet you that much. But the Mayocks of the media are going to make sure their scrutiny of RG III is not doing to appear anything like Cam's because they know folks will looking for it. They are going to constantly mentioning how much they like him and make his weaknesses appear fixable, IF he works hard.

The part that I liked best...when they asked Cam his advice for RGIII, he made it a point to say it was his advice for all young QB's, including RGIII and Andrew Luck.

Cam understands better than most what is needed to succeed as a young QB, no matter your background, no matter how highly touted or panned, none of that matters once you take the field.

I am so proud to have this young man as the face of this franchise.

    • Agreed on the last part. They can’t afford to lose all these games with Martin and Perets.
    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
    • People here get mad when I tell them I prefer Miracle Whip over Dukes
