Some people just aren't cut out for certain jobs.

Paramedics and Firefighters are another example of the types of jobs that are tough on certain folks.

i don't know that it has much to do with "not being cut out" for the job. he's no longer cut out for normal life.

Not putting him down at all. I was a firefighter and you could see that it bothers some more than others.

Some people would take it home with them. and others would shrug it off as just part of life. Not everyone could do that.

Pulling a human out of a burning house thinking you have saved thier life, only to find out they are burnt up where you couldn't see...

Some soldiers (and firefighters) put what they have seen in a little box in the back of their minds, and others carry it with them forever.

Fair enough... I misunderstood you. I don't have any first hand experience in these things but ive watched a few friends and family members suffer for decades because they refused to get help because they didnt understand it and thought they ould just tough it out. Horrible stuff.

my dad is a Vietnam vet and it basically took him 30 years to work thru all his demons. thats a long friggin time with some serious baggage.
