Anyone use this?

Basic concept from what I gather is that you are given a total amount of points you can consume per day (Points = different types of food). The nice thing about this diet, is you can eat whatever you want, but there are limitations to how much you can eat.

So if you are told you can only have 20 points a day you have to choose 20 pts worth of food/drink and cannot exceed that number.

i.e.

salad 3 pts

grilled chicken 5 pts

milkshake 10 pts

...etc

I had an old manager who did this, dropped 20 lbs. My issue is that it costs $20 a month. You can use an app on your phone to help keep track of the number of points.

Anyone ever used this? If so, do you recommend it?

Or has anyone done another diet they would recommend?

Thanks!

I log my food at livestrong.com and stay with in a set caloric number as well as work out...It's not rocket science really...why pay someone when it's common sense

burn more than you consume

when I was a big fat fatty..I didn't work out...once I started to and really paid attention to what I ate..the weight fell off

I'm on it. My wife joined to get rid of the last of her pregnancy weight. I found a site that told me how to determine my points, and just use her app to calculate point values of food. In six weeks I've dropped almost 20 pounds, and two of those weeks I traveled for interviews which caused me to cheat big. I'm well on my way to being less than 200 for the first time in about seven years.

I agree with other huddlers in that it makes you more aware of what you eat. I used to use the free Lose It! app on the iphone. It's amazing how well you eat when you actually write down the calorie count for everything you eat during the day, and how little calories get burned while excersing.

Reese Cups = 3 miles of running at a fast pace. No thanks.

Nike has a new thing called Nike+ (http://nikeplus.nike.com/plus/products/fuelband). Because it's expensive a lot of people won't use it but my good buddy works for Nike and is getting me a fuelband for free, so I'm gonna try it out.
