2 1st round picks?

I been thinking about it and thought it could be a possiblity. What about if we kept our 8/9 pick and took brockers or anybody else that fell like Blackmon, Claiborne, and etc. then trade our second rounder and maybe a couple of next years picks to take another guy we like such as Kirkpatrick or Jenkins in the later teens or mid 20's. I hate the idea of trading future picks away to build the team up with but if we could make something like this happen I wouldnt mind... Of course at the right price. Maybe Trade with the bengals since they have 2 firsts. Just a thought. What u guys think?

Personally I'd like to have brockers and Kirkpatrick/ Jenkins That's two starters that could come in day one and command a spot. Although I think brockers would struggle and dre k as well but later in the year I think they would contribute and be nasty. I know this probably wouldnt happen but I'd be cool with it and be pretty damn happy in the meantime

think of a team like the Patriots which unfortunately is a team you can almost guarantee to come out on the short stick against if you deal with them, but just for giggles:

They pick at like 27 and again at 31 I think. They get that 27ish pick from the Saints because of the Ingram deal. They are ending a historic run and are gonna need to build a defense that will be in place to bridge the gap to Mallet in the next several seasons.

They are looking at guys like Still, Z. Brown, Jenkins, Crick and Mercilus. Could they need a bigger splash at corner or DT and be willing to give us their two late firsts and their late 2nd at 63 (they have two) for our 1st and early second?

I think that would be great. We could look at basically the same players or I like what I have been able to read about Chandler Jones. Plus we could get that third in the form of a late 2nd.

The Patriots are looking at Brian Quick from what I can find online with that mid 2nd round pick. Depending on what Moss comes in like and how cheap he is they might be able to refocus that pick on defense as well.

Just spit-ballin'

I dont advocate trading the future away but if for some reason Hurney decides to do it, i'd rather trade this years 2nd and next years first for an additional first this year. The Otah one only looks soo bad because of his injuries. The times where he trades the next years first for a 2nd the current year( Everette Brown and Armanti) are when he's at his worst.

    • They don't. Add in a player like LaMelo Ball, who selectively plays when he feels like it, and you cannot compete. If your highly paid players refuse to play full time, what can you do?

    • Wow, what hard hitting journalism DJ.  What's next?  The sky is blue?  Water is non-compressible?  =P I'm totally down for trading down and acquiring more picks.  We have spent a TON of picks on failed QBs (Darnold and Baker) and paid a king's ransom for Bryce.  We need more talent, more picks, more shots at the dartboard of NFL talent!
