Bad dog breath

One of my dogs has really nasty breath. Any of you dog owners had this problem before? Should I brush her teeth every now and then or what? She's a 30-pound dachshund/border collie mix.

Probably need to brush her "gums." I've thought I heard people say that bits of food get there and that is why it smells.

milk bones or similar should be a huge help

Probably has gum disease or tooth rot and, depending on it's diet, digestive problems. Improve your dogs diet, don't give it any people food and brush it's teeth on a semi-regular basis.

My dog never really has bad breath per say but I have given him these before and it made his breath minty fresh, hence the name breath busters

I have a dog named Mellow, but I always call her Smellow because of that stinky breath of hers. She's a rescue dog and her breath has always smelt bad, so it may be past the point of no return.

We had a dachshund with stank breath too. It was a dead or bad tooth they had to pull.

Thank you. She's a rescue, too, and her breath has always smelled bad. I'll see if Kroger has them and if not I guess Petsmart.

If its a recent development it could be an indicator of other health problems. Last time our Doxie's breath turned to stank over night it turned out that she had a bladder infection.

Take the critter to the doctor. Even if its just something in its teeth its better to be safe than sorry.

Get some Teethy Treats, and make sure it chews on bones. Not human bones........of any kind.
