We get Edwards back, draft the best DT available in the first (which was reported the draft is suddenly full of) and trade 3rd or 4th to the Giants for Osi. We would have a bad ass line.

chances are great that newly drafted DT isn't going to have a huge impact on this "badass line"..

The point was that we don't need every player on the line to be top-tier for our line to be top-tier. Entering the season with an old DT who's probably on the worse half of his career doesn't mean that our line is going to be sh*t next season or that we have to replace him first before we have a solid line.

still a realistic possiblity that 3 of the 4 on the DL this upcoming season......shouldn't be starters but backups (just like last season).

Ron Edwards was drafted in 2001 and just spent a year on IR. Does everyone know how many teams have DTs drafted in 2001 or earlier STARTING at DT for them?

I agree, people need to wait on Ron Edwards to actually perform before they continuously list him as an answer to a problem we have in 2012.
