great update on Ron Edwards

I think if we take a DT in the first or second round, it won't be a nose tackle. I could see us taking Devon Still or Michael Brockers who could play the 3 technique in a 4-3 or a 5 technique in a 3-4. With a versatile guy who can either get real push either from the middle or the edge, it makes a guy like Hardy more effective. And if we do go to more 3-4 looks, we have the guy to do it. I would love to have a updated version of Kris Jenkins. He would help the line immensely.

As of today I am officially on the Brockers train. He and Edwards would make our run defense incredible. Plus with Anderson, and Beason at linebacker along with whoever else, yeah our run defense will be good. Then if we get a good CB to go along with Hogan and Gamble. Our defense is going to change as dramatically as our offense did last year hopefully.

I'm going to be honest for a second. I don't know why everyone on this board overrated Edwards. I'd like to see a show a hands of people that have ever seen him play or even know who he was before last year. I hope he comes in and plays well like the next guy, but give me a break. He's on the wrong side of 30 and coming of a bad injury. Yet everyone talks about him like a savior. I'll hold of on that.

I'm not counting on him to do much and wouldn't be suprised if he is off the team before the season unless he comes back and looks dominate. We got some younger guys we should look at and we'll probably spend a high pick on a Dt. No sense on wasting time with him unless he comes back 100% and he's a significant improvement on what we have

I didn't realize we were in the position to be picky with the DT position.

yes clicheking i wouldn't be surprised to see our biggest FA acquisition on defense from 2011 cut in training camp either-unless he comes back and looks "dominate", that is.

he was a fan favorite in KC and the fact that he's a veteran with a very consistent track record means he's a poo ton better than anyone we have lining up at DT right now.
