Panthers need to restructure contracts soone than later

Noticed in the other notable free agents that Greg Olsen was listed which is wrong since we signed him to a 4 year contract last summer. But I did see Richard Marshall is a free agent. Before you blast him or me remember that Cardinal defensive coordinator called him the best defensive player on his team. He played both corner and safety and racked up 71 tackles, 10 pass breakups, 2 sacks and 2 ints. I am sure he wants a boatload but he might be better than he appeared to be in meeks defense.

I seriously doubt the Panthers make any big splashes early, as that is when teams typically overpay. And while we may overpay as well, it is generally only for our own guys.

The first things that may happen are dealing with the Thomas Davis situation and perhaps signing Shockey. If there is little activity on the Shockey front, it may be a sign that we are prepared to lose him.

If, as some reports have suggested, we are already over the cap, then yes, we will see some restructuring before the deadline. Otherwise, it may come and go very quietly for us.
