Mayock hits all the Huddle sore spots; Luck vs. Newton, AJ, and Coples

You have to remember, these guys are looking at the whole picture.

With Griffin, there is a lot of tape, a lot of commitment to one school, great background, no questions about parents, hard worker type stuff. You have all that, but Mayock still questions coming out of the spread offense. It will take "work" to transition some of those skills to the next level.

You guys are sensitive about Newton, it is pitiful. I will admit that I did not want Newton. I did not want to even stay at number one. I wanted to trade down(as I always do) and pick up more guys. When picking number one, especially a QB, you have to be right because the next 5-10 years of your franchise will be tied up in that pick. I want a sure thing with no questions. I would have probably picked RGIII over Newton just because of the "icon" thing. I would have felt that RGIII's commitment to football would have been higher.

I hate that too, just as much as you, since it perpetuates things. But at least with this Mayock thing there is some ambiguity as to why he is questioning his work ethic as apposed to Luck's.

Forget about Luck...why not question Dalton.

Like I said earlier...it made more sense to question an unproven rookie coming out of college. Now after a year it simply makes no sense.

Cam has shown he gets frustratedCam has shown he allows himself to get away from mechanics that make him good.

.........Cam will have to work even harder this next year. Is it possible to imagine a scenario where Cam could get frustrated this year and he takes a step backwards? I would think so......Carolina is still a Steve Smith injury away from being a different offense.

Wow...that's a bad thing in your eyes? REALLY?

So when all the other QB's gets frustrated at themselves does that mean they too will slack off and not work hard?

Can't believe you're actually spinning this kid's frustation at himself into something negative. I guess it's folks like you who Mike Mayock is preaching too.

That's an absolutely fair statement.

Can you say that now though?

Tom Brady never gets frustrated or Phillip Rivers

because dalton's not even in the conversation, nor should he be.

I would say letting frustration impact your performance and ability to lead......is a bad thing. We definately saw that last year. Now if Steve Smith got hurt early next year.......you don't think we could see bigger moments of that?

for the record, I wanted Cam at #1. Cam still has flaws. Still needs to work on many things. I am not 100% confident Cam reaches his ceiling.

Mayock is just getting absolutely delusional to the point, no one should trust his judgement anymore. Will Cam continue to work? Seriously? Here's a guy Ron Rivera has praised and his teammates have also for his work ethic. The guy even comes in on the days he isn't required to just look at film(mondays). Here's a guy who had no OTA's, mini cap, etc worked his ass off and learned the playbook, and yeah not to mention he broke the passing record, rushing TD record, won ROTY. But you question his work ethic?

Hmmm I wonder did he question Bradford's work ethic after his first season? Would he continue to have success, Big Ben? Matt Ryan?

But how will he do in 2012....will defenses begin to key in on him? How will he adjust? Will he continue to work hard?

Haha. No, Dalton will be fine, because he wasn't relying on his 'skillset' or 'athleticism' or relying on his OC to create a fabulous offense.

I think Mayock has gone on record saying Cam's ceiling is higher than anyone he has ever seen...

Well, nothing like that has been said by Mayock according to Google. As a matter of fact, the one person that a Google search does reveal as to claiming a "high ceiling" for Cam is Trent Dilfer. And, in those same articles, Mayock scoffs at the workout that Dilfer attended and proceeds to compare Cam to... Jamarcus Russell.

Of course.

Get the fug outta here with this bullshit.

missed the point.

he's talking about newton there and not dalton because no one expects the things from dalton that they are expecting from newton, luck, and RG3.

they aren't asking that question because no one cares. they just aren't interested in him. after this year he's just another starting QB. no one cares.

mehh...i'm done with this whole lame discussion.

have fun at it. i know how you guys love the drama.
